My embroidery machine keeps me sane and earns me money (I'm unemployed at the moment) so you can IMAGINE my pain - stress - anxiety when I plugged it in and it wouldn't work!

I tried everything and eventually just sat there in tears.... only to discover that I was trying to plug the cord into the WRONG HOLE!!!!
Now I am just embaressed - and VERY relieved!!!!

Glad to hear it was a common mistake WE HAVE ALL MADE at one time or another! At least it did not cost you a service call.

That happens to us all at one time or another. My daughter (who is an engineer) called her dad and asked what would cause her new flat screen TV not come one. Well, after having her check some things they decided that she needed to place the service call. Well prior to the service people coming in she decided to go ahead and unplug everything so that they could get to the big screen - and guess what? Yes, you guessed it. One of her kids had unplugged the TV. But, I am glad that you had an easy fix to your problem too.

Too Funny....My hubby got a new battery backup for his computer yesterday and he plugged all the equiptment into it and plugged the battery into the wall. No lights wasn't working so he called tech support and she said any lights on the front of the battery? He said no. She said did you turn the switch on in the front. DUH!! GUESS WHAT it's working. He felt so dumb!! SO moral of the story you are not alone. Just laugh at yourself and share like you did. We all got a chuckle out of it because we have all been there. have a great day ! Suzanne

I'm so happy it was nothing else. We all do silly things like that from time to time, esp. when we are stressed. I sure do understand, yesterday I got a ticket for my dogs of $125 because they got out of my fence and someone I don't even know called the cops. Hope we both have a better day today. Arlene

Well I was relieved, and just sat and laughed.

Hope you have a better day today.

Hang in there girl! You are one of the blessed who has a hobby or craft they can market. It may not be enough to get by on but it sure helps. I know I am in the same boat. Some days are so frustrating, but they will pass. Be thankful for what you have. And as the younger generation say "you go girl!"
Have a blessed day!

So glad your "stitching" problem was solved so easily!! In stressful times (and I've had MANY), I decided to just laugh out loud, instead of crying! Found it works just as well as tears to let off the tension! When I find myself overwhelmed with life, I hear my mother saying "T'aint no biggie!" ,or, "This TOO shall PASS!" I am a rather "old" lady, and mother passed many years ago, but through her, I learned a mindset that has helped me with all life hands me. One of my favorite sayings to get my day off to a good start is ,"Lord, nothing is coming my way today that YOU and I can't handle together!" Life happens, and it is how we handle it that makes us or breaks us! May the Lord bless you with a special strength, until your storms calm and life is serene again.

So glad it was something silly and simple and not a dead embroidery machine-Happy stitching ~smiles~ linda

When I read your first comment I thought, 'Oh no!! there's enough subterranean indigestion going on around the world and erupting all over the place!!!'
Then I clicked on your comment and found you'd only made a mistake.
Well, for your sake, and at this time of the year I'm so very, very glad that you're up and running again. A good cry never did anyone any harm and I'm also glad it sat you down long enough to work out the problem. That's one lesson you'll never forget. Hang in there!!!

Glad to your machine is fine. It is you I m worried about. Remember that when life is hard the good news is it can only get better. Sometimes it takes time but know in time it will get better.
Just take 1 hr at a time if you need or 1 day at a time you will get there.
Wishing you happy days ahead.

Hi Fiona, my gosh, I am sure I am sure I would have cried too, but too much work makes Jack a dull boy. You must try to take a moment for yourself too. Next time phone me and we can cry and shout and scream together,or you can, I will lend the ear. I can quarantee it will feel better.
Lots of hugs and God bless

I can understand where your coming from. My old sewing machine broke last year and I told my husband I had to get a new sewing machine or I'd go crazy. He took me shopping and got me my first embroidery machine.I am still excited by all it can do. I am so happy that your machine is up and running. Have a great day !

Don't be embarrassed, you'd be astounded if you knew the number of service call-outs we had to washing machines that wouldn't work, because they weren't plugged in, or weren't switched on.
Those darn Gremlins are everywhere!
LOL!!!
At least you found the problem before you called a repairman. :-)

Ha, ha, ha. This reminds me of the screw that fell out of hubbies trouser pocket, and went through one of the holes into the drum of the machine, hooking and stopping it from turning. Cost quite a bit to pay a repairman to just lift the screw out of the bin. Would not even mention the red face !!!!

by ansalu 03 Nov 2010

I'm still blonde and those things happen to everybody (but not everybody will be so honest to admit it ;o).
Sometimes I take the wrong cord with all that black stripes from the sewing-machine, the overlock, my iMac, the printer and 2 embroiderymachines (yes they also earn me money cause I'm a stay-at-home-mom :o).
Better this way cause I had last week 4 hours drive for one way to the repairshop :-(
Greetings, Bettina
