I have seen people make "quilt tags" with the built-in applique frames from their machine or else purchasing the designs to make them. They can either just be hung from string or appliqued onto the project. I have done tags like you would find in clothing by using 1 inch wide ribbon that I placed in rows on top of sticky stabilizer and then I embroidered my initials on the rows at regular intervals. I ran a line of fray-check between each set of initials and cut them apart, then sewed a single tag into clothing I made (6 bridesmaids dresses). I have also seen the tag sewn on the "reinforcement patches" that you can buy to help with holes in the knees of jeans and then just ironed onto the project (depending on the project, of course). I hope that this gives you some good ideas to work from. =]

Hi, dkd, I usually use the tiny font built and just stitch my name, date, and presentation information (if I am giving it) onto a small square. Put a cute border on it and applique it on. I did a crib quilt for my new nephew and just stitched on the border with a lighter shade of the same color as the border fabric.

I've been using ribbon in colors to match my projects. I use a little spray adhesive on the back of the ribbon to keep it from slipping and tear away. This seems to work the best for me. Good luck.

That's a great idea. You try it out and let us know what happens. I sell some items at a boutique where I live and I just bought colored business card stock and punched a hole in it and put floss through the hole and attached with a safety pin. I printed them on my printer, but I like your idea better. ;)

You don't say whether you have any software. If so, make up your own design using text, outlines, and so on, and sew it onto satin ribbon the width you want. I use the largest hoop I have, stick on a couple of ribbons next to each other on tear away and let the machine do the rest.

Thank you for the information. I will try this. I was looking in a design in embroidery magazine and they also did a lot of different ones on ribbon. Thanks
