I bought some FSL designs from daintystitches - they are really nice at the photo.

After stitching out they look great. I embroidered on 2 layers of watersoluble stabilizer as always with FSL - after laying the designs for a minute in cold water - as always - the thread is moving. It's so loose that from butterflies the head is disappering, the outlines are loose thread..
I can't use most of the designs not only one.
I made a lot of FSL before - do anybody have an idea?
I use a Janome MC 11000 - one of the best machines I found. Last week I tried with the MC 9700 and thought it was a problem for the machine - it wasn't.
All other designs are great in stitching out - the machne is o.k.
I wrote 2 mails to dainty - no answer. They have really so cute designs - I'm frustrated as I wanted to make some table decoration for my mothers 80th birthday at the weekend- butterflies and flowers with FSL.
It wasn't freebees - I bought them although they are on discount.

Any idea is so welcome......

Blessings
Bärbel

Do I make any mistake?

I am sorry this is happening to your hard work. Please let us have an update on what the problem is.
Discount should not mean they are wrong designs.

I had the same problem with mos of their designs, I don't like their fsl that much, what I do is that while the design stil damp, I put som liquid stidch and that holds them together.

I have learned (the hard way) that some sites advertise lace designs which in fact are NOT "free standing lace"
they are lace looking. Go back to the site and make sure it says FSL. I am so sorry you have come across this problem when the design is so urgently needed!
Private message me if you need further assistance.

I am doing the sea shells and some xmas ones from their site right now, I have done quite a few with no problems from any of them. I usually do a double stitching on the base of most designs, but I haven't on these and they are great. I saw in my files that I received 2designs in each file one with the loop and the other without, not sure if it makes a difference, maybe your file has 2 also and the 2nd ones are not fsl more of a lace, just a thought.
So sorry to here you are having problems with them.

Bärbel dear, sometimes - that site has designs that say LACE but they are not FSL - could that be the case with the butterflies? I have stitch many of their FSL Butterflies without any trouble.

Hi Shirlene,
thanks for answer!
You are right - it can hapen not to read exactly. But this is written as FSL - I try to find the good ones and change only the colour to have 80 different ones, or I add a small flower.
God bless you - wish you big success with your 2 machines - since a week I have two - isn't it great? ( I have to sell one soon - but still I have and enjoy)

Hi,
some No. are:
ds103_3 butterflies
ds103-8
ds0020
ds0024

ds0186_2 - flower

That they are one of your favourites I can understand. I don'twant to let the designs - I like them.
I will mark the one with missed stitches and use the other ones.
Understand me right - I don't want to make the designs bad - they are all beautiful for a suitable price! And not all make this problems. But after six of it i tried to save my time!
I hoped to read that I do anything wrong and can change.
I can't repair with few stitches - it's too much. And this is not the idea if I buy designs - they may can change a bit by digitizing with few steps. I only received twice the automatic mail that thea have my mail. Sorry.
Right now I found three of around fourty or more I bought are stitching out well.
I wanted to make 80 different for each different year one. HUUUUUUH - I hope I can finish til saturday.
FSL needs a lot of time and thread - that'S the thing.
Thanks for taking time for me
God bless you

Barbel, I too use a MC 11000 and have never had any problems with the FSL designs from daintystitches. I would do as Maria has suggestion. Good luck. Carol

You might try putting a piece of organza between the watersoluble stabilizer. When the WSS comes out you still have the organzafor the threads to attach to. You have to trim really close without cutting your stitches. I also use a small wood burning tool to carefully remove all the fringe of the organza. I know this is one more step but it gives the piece a little more stability. Normally I use white but could use a matching color. Hope this helps.

Barbel: I have always brought from Dainty Stitches and have lots of FSL designs from them. I've stitched them out on 2 lays of wss, using the same thread in bobbin and top. Never had any problems and everytime I've written them for whatever reason, they are always very good on 'customer satisfaction'......Are you doing a FSL design or a design that 'looks' like FSL but is meant for embroidery on cloth. Check that out, because there are designs that look like FSL and really are not. They must be embroidered on fabric. I would check that first and then email them with your problem in a concise fashion even sending them a pic of the piece with the problem marked. Hope this help.......Maria

Thanks Maria,
I did the same - double layer and the same thread up and down. The designs are declared as freestanding lace, I sorted in lace for fabric and FSL, I bought both. i put the designs in a flat bowl only laying and the thread is swimming around the design, without any moving.
I wrote twice by writing the design numbers - no answer. I also asked only for assistence not critizising.
Any how - the designs are nice for fabric. The flower-FSl are mixed - some are strong and others I can see before stitching the fastening of the leaves is to small.
I search for FSL butterflies and flowers.
