I finally finished my Family Quit. I tried to tell the story of my family in pictures. It started out as a "Lap Quilt" idea but it grew just like my family. :) This is the front side. I constructed the quilt with the "Cotten Theory".

Very nice quilt. I am also doing a memory quilt for my son before he gets married this year. I had intentions for a lap quilt but I think that it will be a bed quilt too!

This is lovely. Your family will treasure it. I am going to tackle making 10 memory quilts for all my Mom's grandchildren. She died July 28, 2009 and I have her dresses to use in the quilt.

Thank you Becky! Your quilt sounds wonderful. Never thought of using old clothes. I have always given them to Senior Citizens Thrift Stores. Please post when you finish one and all. :) I have used the Large Broches as tie backs for curtains and I like them.

This is a great quilt. I would love to try the Cotten Theory Method but was told it comes out very stiff. How did you find it??

dkjack by dkjack 19 Jul 2010

Thank you. It is not stiff at all. It is like any other quilt. I love this method. It adds so much to a quilt.

I did a tshirt quilt using CTM and it wasn't stiff at all. It was very nice

I am fasinated with the way the fabric is placed and blocks and sashing is all finished. I love it lots. You and your family will have an heirloom here for years to come. Did you print the designs onto fabric yourself?
Congratulations.
