Does anyone have any experience using the Magna Hoops?

I have them, the only problem for my 5x7 embroidery area is that the inner frame takes up a lot of space, so I only can use smaller designs.

I'll have to be careful. Thanks.

I have one and use it to make large designs. I have a Bernina 730 and just finished a baptism dress for a little girl.

Hi I bought the magna hoop tried it on towels and the towel kept shifting and the design came out crooked. I even tried extra magnets and still didn't work. It's just sitting there on the shelf. Wasted money! Hope that helps Suzanne

I tried them and HATED it... I use Fast Frames... a whole lot less expensive and much easier to use. I called around to professional embroidery businesses and they told me that they would NEVER use magna hoops... ALL use fast frames. I guess it's a matter of preference. Good luck :-) teri.

I also have a Brother PR600II and would not be without my magnahoops. I have an extra set of magnets to go with them, and can hoop ANYTHING from the lightest to the heaviest project with no problem. They are 'simplicity itself' to use, make fine adjustments a doddle, eliminate hoop burn and stretching, and the only possible downside is the small loss of hoop area, but it is so easy to test the perimeter of the design using the machine, that there is no chance of messing up.

I am looking forward to eliminating that ugly hoop burn too!

I use exclusively magnahoops with my Brother PR600II - and would seriously consider investing in a set of the new ones (if they get around to bringing out a set for my machine).
The ONLY drawback with the magnahoops is that they encroach on the embroidery area a tiny bit (as my large hoop is 200mm x 300mm that isn't a very big problem for me), but the new ones should eliminate that altogether.

I have seen lots of comments about loss of space with the magna hoop. The same company is releasing the snap hoop next month for some home machines. It is also magnet based but the whole inner hoop has magnets built in and the bottom is metal so it is suppose to hook together really well. I have preordered one at my dealer - hope it is as good as the video shows.

Yes , I have magna hoop. I did not buy the soft ware so make sure to check that the design is clear and free from the metal inside ring. I used it a lot on my toilet paper covers. Kay

I like them there is only a problem for the 5x7 area, because you can not embroidery nothing that is 5x7 the inner frame takes up a lot of space.

I am curious, because seems it would be easier for me to use them on my PR650...to get the pattern centered better.

I am sure that others may like them but I didn't. It was to restrictive for me. I have them never use them.
