Dependiong on the design you can use a tearaway but if it has a lot of open areas you will be tweezing tearaway for what seems like hours or even days. You can use wss and lightly spray adhesive (505) on it and then launder them. I would also use a solvy topping, just because.

I did linen handkerchiefs for a wedding party and used lightweight tearaway. There was no distortion of the lettering when removed.
