Does anyone else out here use a magic box? I bought one 8 months ago. I spent $300 and got the upgrade to Magic box Elite also. It worked fine (after I finally figured it out..LOL) and now my computer doesn't recognize it. I uninstalled and reinstalled about 4 times --- still doesn't work. I called OESD support (embroidery online). They were about as helpful as a screen door on a submarine. Tried 3 times to call - each time was on hold for at least 45 minutes then it threw me into voice mail. Third time I left a message. The guy called me back (of course I was at work) and he was upset that I wasn't at home so that I could tell him exactly what the error message said. He said that I have to go through it with a tech. I suggested that I send the box back to him (as I work the same hours as they do) so that they could check it and send it back to me. He said they would not accept it. Too simple of a concept for them. They are really hard to deal with. I called the place where I bought and they too agreed that OESD support is really difficult to deal with. Wish I had known that eariler - I would have bought a different brand.

Most of these are about $200 to $300 --- Does anyone have any ideas? Are these things supposed to last or do you have to replace it every year? I have a hard time believing that you pay that kind of money and it only works a short amount of time.

I have a Bernina Deco 600 so it doesn't have a USB port on the machine so I have to use a card converter. I have 32 bit Windows XP (on their site it says it is compatable with my system), I checked for viruses - none, and have changed nothing on my system----

Any help will be greatly appreciated....

Thanks in advance,

I have the magic box elite. I have had some problems with mine also. A friend of my son told me to use the can of air that is used for computers. and blow the usb port and the end of the magic box , the part that plugs into the usb port. He said that dust could cause this problem. Do you have more than one usb port on your computer? If so you could try using it. It seem to help mine. I hope this helps.

Thank you I will try that. I called my Bernina Dealer and she offered to hook up my box to her computer to check to see if it registars on hers. I have no problem with my other things that plug into my computer usbs....printers, thumb drives, mice....

Thank you so much for the suggestion. Hugs & Blessings. Lyn 0:)

I don't have a Magic box either, but thanks for letting us know the support is so bad. I won't buy one either. My sister has one, I'll ask her if she's had any trouble with it.

I should have checked with the Amazing box people first I guess. As I said I am so very new to all of this I guess I didn't realize there was a difference. Thought one magic box was as good as an amazing box....lol! All my mistakes seem to be expensive ones. Thanks for checking with your sister and your help. Hugs & Blessings. Lyn 0:)

Sorry I can't help but will bump this back to the top for you. I have a Magic Box and Deco 340 and it works fine. I must say I do not use it often as I also bought the Artista programme and use a memory stick which is easier and faster to use. Hope you get it sorted out. Hugs

Thanks, I was told that the Deco 340 was the first one that could hook directly to the machine. I didn't know anything about embroidery or the machine before I invested in the Deco 600. Hindsight being perfect vision, I would have saved a little more for the 340.....LOL! Now I have too much invested. Thanks again for your help and good wishes.
