If the design is written by a newer edition of your software, it will not open in your software. If you have conversion software, convert to another format and then back to pes, they should then load.

sewmum had the solution. I opened it in PE version 5.0 and it worked. I was using PE version 7.2 which was to high. Thanks for your suggestion.

Sometimes when designs will not download on my card I go back and put the design in a "hoop" for the size it should fit. Sometimes you have to rotate the design and then it will download. Hope this will help.

What kind of card writer do you have and what kind of card are you using?
If the writer transfers the designs to the card and the machine won't read the designs AND you say the design is the right size for your hoop then it is not the correct type of card for your machine is my only guess.
I have also googled Brother PE600 and cannot find that model. I was hoping if I found the model I could tell you what card you need for it in case you do not have the correct one.

There is the 6 needle PR 600
PE 150
PE 180D
PE 190D
PE 400
PE 700
PE 770

You may have a problem with the version on pes. There is pes 4.0 , 5.6 , 6.0 and another one with a lower number. My machine can take 5.6 and lower but if it's 6.0 it can not read it. I use Pulse Ambassador to convert the 6.0 to 5.6. and then it's fine. The icon looks the same so you can't tell by looking at it. When I convert it I rename it with "5.6" in the name so I know it's the right one.

it's possible the Pes format of the design is bigger than the size of the hope of your machine. So you can see it on your pc but your machine is not able to open it because it cannot be embroidered in the hope. So check the size of the design on the pc, and take a look at the size of the hope. that can be perhaps the problem.

Welcom at cute by the way!

Thanks for the welcome. My machine hoop size range from 100x100 to 300x200 as the desin I want to open is 100x100 it should open, mosat of the designs open ok but the named snowflakes do not for some reason.

Now I understand this is just a problem with one design, Not a problem you experience with all designs.
I am guessing you got it in "Designs by Cuties"
In your software open the design and try selecting "save as" and save it centered in .pes format
I sometimes have to resave a .pes design in .pes format because my ped basic won't accept it.

sewmum had the solution. I was opening the design in PE version 7.2, and it did not work so I went back to version 5 and it worked great. thanks for your help

Also make sure the design is unzipped if you got it in a zip file and that it is centered.
You also need to get a way to transfer the designs from the pc to the machine so that means you need ped basic and a blank card.
All Brands has them also sometimes you can find them on ebay or on craigs list.
You can also buy cards that already have designs on them.

Check your sizes - I had this problem also and was befuzzled to understand why I couldn't see what I had put there. If you have a stitching area of 4x4 like mine and you try to use a design that is larger your PED will not let you. Check your hoop designation on PED. If it is set to a larger size-you will never see the design no matter what size it is. I learned this one the hard way. Once you change the size hoop everything works fine. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply Donna, as I am new to all this I do not even know what PED is? I can open the design on my computor but it will not let me down size or export to my machine?

The PED Basic is that program you got on CD when bought your Brother. This program has be downloaded on your PC and is after install able, to show you and load designs in pes on your card, when size is conform with your hoops and machine possibilities. If designs are more large you have to resize it with any resizing tools, example: free True Resizer e-1.5 from Wilcom.
Good luck

I don't think she is talking about downsizing. Do you have something that you can go to to change the hoop size? It would change the square or rectangle in the middle of the design page. Sometimes the designs are created on a 5x7 format but they would really fit OK into a 4x4 so you can change the hoop size to 4x4 and the design stays the same but the machine reads that a 4x4 hoop is needed instead of 5x7.
