Could people please refrain from putting the actual clipart in Design by Cuties. It is misleading and also too easy to "steal". The artists of these images would prefer you to go to their websites.

I tried to start a discusion about this a few weeks ago, siply because if only the clipart is visible anyone downloading hasn't a clue what they are getting! Several times I've been fooled that a design is nice simple redwork only to find that it is no such thing.

TTT FOR THOSE THAT INSIST ON PUTTING THE CLIPART IN DESIGN BY CUTIES.
PLEASE SCROLL DOWN AND READ THE COMMENTS ABOUT THE LEGALITY (OR ILLEGALITY) OF PUTTING THE IMAGES UP FOR EVERYONE TO BE ABLE TO SHARE THEM.

Again.... DO NOT PUT THE ACTUAL CLIPART OR PICTURES OF THE ARTWORK ON DESIGN BY CUTIES.IT IS AGAINST COPYRIGHT REGULATIONS.IT IS ALSO ILLEGAL TO SHARE THE ARTWORK, FREE OR OTHERWISE.
PLEASE ACKNOWLEDGE THE ARTIST BY PUTTING HIS/HER WEBSITE WHERE IT SAYS "ORIGINAL ARTWORK".

I do not digitise, but Clipartopolis states that you may share made designs as long as you state that it is their clipart used I believe.

Yes, that's right, but you may NOT share the clipart itself. So you should not put the clipart in Designs by Cuties, which can be downloaded from there, but a picture of the stitch-out of the embroidery. Which is also far more useful when you want to download a design.

Not only state it is their artwork, but put a link back to their website.

A timely reminder Ricky as every man and his dog wants to digitise without knowing any of the rules attached and without realising that these rules mostly apply Internationally, through treaties of the various Countries' governments.
So, just because you don't live the same country as the Graphic Artist does not mean you are immune from prosecution.

The community of the world wide web has seen to it that there are harsh punishments enforcable for Intellectual Property theft, regardless of where you may live, if yours is one of those countries that have signed the protection and punishment treaties.

Hugs n roses, Meganne

And if you live in the western world you can be assured that your country has signed those treaty.

Thanks! I was aware of the misleading aspect - you have not a clue what the embroidery would look like. But I never realised it's actually doing what is expressly forbidden in the terms of use: you are sharing the actual clipart.

Yes, Martine. And there are a couple of clipart sites that you need to register on before you download their freebies. You can't get them unless you sign in,so by putting them on Design by Cuties they are actually doing the wrong thing.
