which assures you of your eternal friendship.

Or another short saying, word of wisdom, bible quote, best whish...
This was done in your prettiest handwriting (in "ancient" times it was a school subject, and yes, I had "schönschreiben" ;-) ) and if you had to sign the book of your VERY best friend, you maybe glued your favourite "lackbild" in.
I looked this up- did not find an english word for that.
Here you have an impression.

My idea is: are you interested in having a cuties poetry album?

Those who are able to create an embroidery text file can post it to designs by cuties, others tell me the poem and I could do this.
It will turn out better than my goofy first attempt, I promise.

With those textfiles we could do a friendship quilt, everyone for her own, combined with our favourite heirloom/vintage/valentine designs.
What do you think?

It's a super Idea. I found 2 poem in my old friendbook.
-I dream my dreams until my dreams comes true. I also hope for you. and
-If you asked me: "What is more important to you, your life or do I?" Would I were to say: "My life!" And you'd go without knowing that you are my life.

I hope, that is right in english

Thanks for your encouraging answers!
I hope for many participants! FUN.
This is a first example how it could turn out.
I did it with a built in font of PE Designer, today I will try another font with the Futura. Maybe will look better.
The heart is an applique shape.
The poem was very popular to use, says "In all - 4 corners - my love- is in" or better "I put my love to all 4 corners".
I think for this project it would be nice to have poems in the "original" native languages- for the special character of our forum, connecting the world in friendship. I like this idea.
Greetings!
Eva

Liebe Eva,

I have still my old books; today my daughter has these books where you just put in: favorite color, band, pet... soooo boring because every girl looks what the others have writen before ;o)
greetings, ansalu

Those modern friendship books with ready made formulas (not much room for individual interests... so poor) could be fun to read too. A classmate (age 7) wrote into our book
Favorite actor: Goofy.
I love this.

wow, in Annas book there are always: horses or footballclub (the boys ;-) or sometimes the name of a special boy :o)

How wonderful it sounds to have those treasure memories! I can't speak for all of the USA only for myself, and here we did have a yearbook signing and we still do. Unfortunately we would only write things like "stay sweet", "call me this summer", or "have a fun summer." I maybe would've saved all of those books had they had more cherished things written in them. TY for this insight into your life.

In France we did something similar in school. All the girls had a friendship penbook. Some girls were writting poem, some glued some picture of their favorite singer and other thing. The book was passed from girl to girl and everybody was writting a message to the other one.

If you give me a few days, I'll embroid a cuties'poem and take a photo of it to post to the project !

Ashame we are so far from each other because it would be fantastic to all embroid a poem with nice deco and one of us sew it together to make a quilt.

You had a great idea!

Well Eva, we had the same in Holland, found mine after my father died. My mother wrote such a beautiful poem, such precious memory. I am not gifted that way. but interested to see what other cuties think about it.
