Dear All,

I would like to ask you whether you've embroidered on a tie. If so, would you please, please, please help me how? Thank you Klara from Hungary.

Klara, I haven't done this yet but have been planning to do a custom tie for my dear hubby for Christmas. Recently one of his ties accidentally went through the laundry so I had the opportunity to put it back together. I learned they are very basic and nothing to fear.

When I embroider the tie, first I will open the stitching on the backside so I can lay it flat. Mine are silk so I will use a light to medium mesh stabilizer. I do not want to hoop it so I plan to use the lightweight tearaway sticky type in the hoop. I normally use a water soluble topper but on the silk I won't, instead opting for a very light tearaway. Mark my placement, stick it and stitch it. When I am finished just hand stitch the backside and I am done. That's the plan but if there is a Cutie who has done this, I am certain they will share with both of us their experiences. Welcome to Cute and Blessings!

Dear Cinderoak,

Thank you for the advice. I'll do that. Luckily I have time to be experienced, I need to finish them by the graduation. :)
Thank you once again.

While I have not embroidered a tie I have dissasembled them. A tie is cut on the cross of the fabric and can come in up tp 9 pieces. These were the expensive ones
