Not crazy, just human. I've got loads too, but there's always something I just want a BIT different, too long or too short a stem on a rose or too straight and so on. Nice to find out we are all in the same boat.

What interesting reading from everyone.

Re your design hunt for the elusive design - is this not all part of the addiction that is machine embroidery? Anyway hope you find something suitable in the not to distant future.

Thanks! Actually, I just thought that maybe just a simple monogram might be nice.

Yes, I thought I was the only one with that problem. I sometimes think it's because we have too many pretty designs! On second thought you can't have too many designs. HeHe!

Yeah, I know what you mean. I actually did a T-Shirt for myself the other day, and my sister loved it. SO...I gave it to her, because I can always make another one. That is IF I ever get around to it!

If there is something that I want to to for myself I save it under MY Favourites. Then I know where to search. Love Marie.

Yeah, like everybody else, I can't choose either, hee hee hee. I have them all organized, can use my Design Gallery to see them all, even count the number of stitches, but I can't CHOOSE! Probably that perfectionism thing, if I choose this one, then I'll see another one I like better tomorrow. My solution, just buy more shirts!! I got a bunch of t's at AC Moore when they were 5 for $10, so now I can waste days picking out 5 designs instead of just one, hee hee hee. If you're crazy, I think you're in good company, my dear!! Hugs, Marji

Dont ya just love when AC Moore has the 5/$10 sale?!? AND...it isn't quite as big of a tragedy if the machine boogers up and destroys a T-Shirt, if you've only paid $2 for it!

OH GEEZ! that's a lot of designs! I actually underestimated a lot. I realized that I have teh Designs By Sick CD set from this winter, and there are over 13,000 designs on that set, alone. UGH!! Maybe if I went through all 13,000 I might have found something...but that is too much like WORK!

May I tell you, that 2000 designs will not be the end? ;-)
Maybe this program will help out, have a look
http://answers.cuteembroidery.com...
I came now to a point to create sub-files in my collection (not only "cats", but "cute cats", "natural cats" and "cartoon cats" and so on).
The difficult thing by making a decision is thinking about if you choosed right or another option would have been better. A problem of people who want to be perfect.... welcome to the club. ;-)
I'm thinking now for 3 months! which designs in my collection would match a certain poem for a heirloom quilt best. And I'm sure it will take the entire summer. And it ends as ever:
Thinking about a new project. Thats why I never post someting in the projects section.
Cheers!
Eva

oops, just saw, that you know this link....

WOW! YOu must have taken forever to organize your files. I shamefully admit that I am just not that organized!

Colleen, dear - you are not alone - but when you have a program that you can open up your files and look at them - you can locate something - if you can just figure out - what it is that you really want on that shirt to begin with - my Mother used to clip things out of magizines and off the Internet - when she could - to keep with her designs as an idea - how to use the designs - that was good for her - but I hate all those little pieces of paper - so now that I cleaned out her apartment and her designs - she only has the ones that fit inside the cases - but I do wish you luck - what were you thinking about to put on that polo shirt? Maybe we can give you some idea's of what would look good. I just hate to think that you will not be wearing it - until you decide or worse than that - that you are not using the designs that you have. Hehehe! *4U

I guess the problem starts with....I'm not exactly sure what type of design I wanted. I thought something would jump out at me and scream 'perfect'. But that didn't happen.LOL!

Hee hee hee, giggle snork mppphhhh guffaw!! Right with you there, Meganne!!

workbecky by workbecky 11 Apr 2009

This is so true. Even when it is not for me (because I rarely do anything for me) I can never find the perfect design or have so many from which to choose I run out of time.

Gee I'm so glad that I'm not alone...I think it is like being a kid in a candy store ...so many goodies and you can only choose 1...so ya waste your time trying to choose ...then you Mother says she is leaving even though you didn't pick...tooo bad...toooo sad!!!

Oh thank goodness..sometimes I thought I had an addiction to just collecting...( fabric, patterns, designs..etc. )
I have all these wonderful alphabets ( really only use a couple of monograms...how often do you and family & friends change your names?? duh )
I just love them and lay awake at night trying to think of what to use them for..... any ideas?

Oh Geez! Don't even get me started on the alphabets! I collect them, but NEVER use any of them. LOL!

waterlily by waterlily 11 Apr 2009

Yeah....it really IS frustrating. I don't just take a design because it's free....I take it because I LIKE it. ANd I have purchased quite a few, too. THEN, I find that I really don't want to use it?? UGH!!!

by dailylaundry 10 Apr 2009

Thanks for this post - it is nice to know that this happens to other people besides me!! Besides having a membership here, I have been known to purchase designs!! Also, I need to better organize the designs I already have!!! Coming up with just the right idea can be a challenge!!!!

waterlily by waterlily 10 Apr 2009

Oh My! Organizing them!! I try to do that, but it will take me forever! I actually had everything organized, and burned them to CD all nice and neat in appropriate folders. THEN... I collected about a thousand more designs. LOL! I believe I have an unhealthy addiction.
