My husband wants me to embroider some fish on one for him as a present. I personally think it is the ugliest jacket known to man, but he loves it! Any help would be apprieciated. BTW I really only have sticky stabilizer to use. Would that work?

sticky stabilizer is exactly what this calls for. Shouldn't be any problem at all. Just add a layer of tear away underneath if the design is dense at all.;)

Good Luck with this bit of sewing. While he loves the jacket and you dont, take care because its projects like this that often go wrong. Have fun and let us know how it went

dlonnahawkins~ What kind of stabilizer did you use? The design I am using is dense and of a fish. Go figure...on an ugly jacket!

minnieb~ Could you tell me your process? I only have sticky stabilizer available where I live. I have never bought any other off the internet. So you help and guidance would be appreciated!

I feel you really need to try and find some kind of similar material and test it. Make sure that it won't run when the needle marks are put in. If you can't find anything similar, then I personally would take it to your embroidery store (viking is mine) and get some hints from an embroidery specialist that can see the material first hand.

Good Luck and remeber that one persons garbage is another's treasure

Hope you have a very Mery Christmas

I dd a jacket with no problems, just make sue that your fabric is smooth with no wrinkles. I use a basting stitch on things I can not hoop. it works wonders. Good luck
