Good morning Cuties! Yesterday was craft day with the kids and here are the snowflakes they made. When I said, “ Are y’all ready to make something?” Nora and Rylan we all for it, but Gus didn’t want to participate, even after I told him what we’d be making.

Dad had brought the kids earlier all but Eva, she opted to sleep in. He had to pick mom from the bus service because she had to bring her school bus in for check up over the holidays. On the way back they dropped in and when I jokingly told mom they could just take Gus back home because it wouldn’t participate, she laid the guilt trip on him. Nora had just finished her first one when mom and dad got here and had given it to mom. Mom told Gus she would just have one beautiful snowflake on their tree because he wouldn’t make one. Well he immediately wanted to make his but I told him as it was lunchtime soon, he now would have to wait.
So here are all the kids with their snowflakes. Gus’s was cut different and out of a heavier paper, but white.
Rylan and Nora’s first one are the same paper and theirs are cut the same. Nora’s second white is of fabric, as is the blue two tone I made with Nora, while the boys played with the Lincoln logs.
We had a good day overall. When Rylan’s family came to pick him up, mom just gushed over his snowflake and Rylan just beamed. It made my heart feel good for him.
It ended with another job for me. Taylor bought a Carhart jacket for me to embroider for her dad’s Christmas present. Christmas is this Sunday, 5 days away! We had to look online for a design of an old car. Her dad is restoring a 1935 Plymouth sedan, not a coupe. The closest design we found was a 1929 that looked similar. She bought the design before they left and I added the lettering so she could see if that’s what she liked. So now I have ANOTHER project to finish before Sunday. Does it ever end? I halfway jokingly said, “Do you want it next year?” She said she guess New Years would be good. I left it like that because I kinda wanted her to see, that this close to Christmas, is very late to bring something like this for me to embroider. You know me though, this will be my day today. Without a problem, I should get it done. Hopefully it will go well and if it does I’ll add to Projects page. So the stories continue…..

I'm so glad I am finally catching up on all I have missed this past week. I wondered how the snowflake party went. I'm glad to see Avery shared in the fun too. Beautiful snowflakes, beautiful creators of the snowflakes too. I hope you are all having a wonderful day filled with love, laughter and good food.

Sweet story with the Grands! And their Snowflakes turned out lovely! I have been so sick the last 2 weeks that we had to pair down what we could do for decoration, etc. Don't catch the flu!!!! Stay healthy! Hugs, Laura

Are y’all getting any improvement? I hate that y’all got sick- we are trying to keep well but will have to grocery shop soon for Christmas. They are giving extreme weather for us that are not equipped for the cold. I’m staying in after tomorrow.
Thanks about the kids

I do too ! Wish you could have been here. I read Nora about 'your adoption' and she enjoyed hearing it. I love how she gets a twinkle in her eyes and a big smile when she is happy or excited. She had it when I told her about you wanting to be adopted.-l

Gosh toogie, family fun. Looks like they all had a productive time. I am off cooking with my boys on Thursday as school will have finished and I will be with them for the day. Gruff has produced a list of what is to be made. I am about to do some embroidery for others. Its the same over, embroidery takes no time at all and oh just do it, is not the reality at all. I have just come to my laptop and discovered and remembered a phone call interrupted me as I wrote. I will remove my other comment

I know what you mean they think we can snap our fingers and it's done. Have fun with your boys. I still have to do last minute grocery shopping for fresh items and they are giving really cold below freezing temps after Wednesday so tomorrow will be my shopping. After that I hunker down and cook.
The kids did have a good time and told me so when they hugged and kissed me to leave.

Well, it sounds like everybody had some fun and some success and maybe learned about keeping Mom and grandmother happy! Call it a big success. They will remember. My grandmother (Mom's mom) never did any sewing or crafts with me, but 40 plus years after her death, I still can smell her kitchen in my imagination with all the smells, the perfect fish, her birthday cakes for grands, and the overburnt toast that she ate for her digestive issues. Plus the slight odor of the gas stove itself.

And I remember how she looked barefoot in sand. She was born at a beach and looked so at home in sand at any beach! Keep making the memories, Toog. Merry Christmas.

I remember my grandmas smell, her and house, because I lived with her, after my moms bad wreck, until I married. One time when grown Caleb hugged and kissed me, he told me I smelled so good. I hope he has good memories of me too and not an 'old grandma smell'.-lol
