Feeling a tad down. This week is our youngest child's wedding is in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It is a very well planned out destination wedding for close family and a few friends. My sweet hubby caught influenza - with his lungs and bad heart, he has had a time of it. Somehow, I have acquired a nasty sinus infection and cold. Both of us are coughing our heads off. I have run a fever and we are both tired and simply sick - thankfully, we each have meds which is helping. But we are missing the Wedding week. I never thought anything would keep me from this trip and seeing the celebration with our family for this sweet couple . Only good thing is, they were married officially by a Justice of the Peace about three weeks ago because of the difficulty of getting married in Mexico. We were there to witness the event. So technically we did get to see them wed. Sorry for my self indulgence - just feeling a bit down. Hugs to all, and please don't catch this awful Flu!! Laura

HelloLaura, oh what a pity that you can not be there. Fortunately, you can take many photos and videos, so you do not miss everything, I see that your heart cries. The influenza is not so easy this year, I had it for two months, and in our hospitals the intensive care departments for small children are overcrowded. Take care of yourselves, get well soon, hugs Maria

My heart goes out to you. You have every right to be feeling down. You looked forward to this for so long. But I'm grateful you are home where you are comfortable, not risking getting even sicker. And yes, attending via the internet is very doable. And I'm sure many of the folks there can connect you and your handsome hubby by phone or computer. Now, I hope you both are behaving yourselves, resting and taking your medicine. And you will be healthy so you can see all of the pictures and hear all of the stories when they come home.

Our kiddos are so good about this - they are having a lovely time and are so understanding. We will do FaceTime - it is now setup for tomorrow. Between the two of us we have a bunch of medicine and making certain the other is taking theirs!! I hope to post a few pictures whenever I receive them! Thank you Karen and hugs to you and your Handsome Hubby! Laura

I am so sorry Laura. I can imagine how sad you must feel. Hopefully you will be able to set up a zoom session. I am sure pictures and hopefully videos will let you enjoy seeing it once you are better. Praying for you and your hubby to get better soon.

Hard to believe this darn Covid is still wreaking havoc on our lives after 2 years. I agree-have someone set up a zoom meeting so you can "be" there. Hugs. Nan

I'll add my suggestion to having it on a Zoom or Meeting so you are technically "there". I am disappointed for you sweet Laura.

So sorry to read this Laura, at least you go to see them wed. I pray that the sickness both of you have will be over soon. It's still rife in Australia too, but people are learning to live with it. Love Chris

Aw, what a shame...perhaps someone attending can connect you by Zoom or another platform so you can be there "watching" the celebration...

I'm so sorry. Being sick is bad enough on its own. I hope they film it or let you watch over internet live. Prayers for you all.

I hope you both feel better soon. I know how important this is for a mother or parent so I can't fault you for feeling down. It is very disappointing but like Caroline said hopefully you will be able to 'attend' in Skype or whatever it's called.
My great grandson Dawson age 3 1/2 has Influenza B. We are trying to not mix too much so we can be well for Christmas but we ate out with them Saturday night and during the night he got sick. A lady (79) I quilt with and her husband (80 ish) have Covid. Another lady and her husband just had it a couple weeks before so I didn't go to my Christmas quilt party and CASA came that day for our quilts.
Sending Get Well wishes to you both!-Toogie

Laura I have just spent ages writing a piece and its vanished. You were at the official ceremony though. With modern technology of zoom, mobile phones and laptops you can see whats going on and chat to others there and be part of the ceremony. I have just spoken with a friend who was unable to get to her youngest grandchilds christening in person but participated in person. Her husband even did a reading from the comfort of his own sitting room which every one heard. Take care and recover very soon.

Thank you, Caroline. The wedding is tomorrow and we are set up to do FaceTime. We'll be on "mute" so our coughing won't bother anyone. I am counting my blessings on having 4 kind kiddos who have each found wonderful spouses. Thank you again and hugs to you, Laura
