Hi Gals, we have been in Verona, Italy (of the Romeo and Juliet fame) and have had a wonderful weekend.

We are off to Milano to the airport this afternoon and on to Singapore tomorrow (Tuesday) for a few days before heading home to Newcastle, NSW next Saturday the 22nd October. To say we've had a great time is obvious! Love Chris

4. Complesso Cathedral
5. View of the markets, there were 3 streets full!!!

I love looking at your vacation pics. Can you tell me, what are the colorful topped containers that are between the cars, in the first photo? I'm thinking portable potty or trash bins, but I'm just guessing.
I think all the architecture is so magnificent and I love the brick streets. The pavement of the bricks, in front of the church, is so pretty with the swirling and seems to be kept up really nicely. I love the bubble/curve look of the balustrades on some of the balconies as well. Have a safe flight to Singapore and on home on the 22nd._Toogie

Toogie the bins look like recycling containers. Different colour for each type, eg paper, drinks cand, plastic. Seem to remember Japan had about 7-9 to choose from. Kept us busy deciding.

Hi Toogie, yes, they are rubbish bins for recycling, rubbish etc. Caroline was correct in her comment.
The streets are lined with Marble! There is so much of it available.
The design of the streets with the swirling laid bricks are all over the place. Not good for people with their luggage. We kept my large suitcase in a locker at the train station and just used our backpacks - good move!

I meant to say as well the floors of all the churches are marble. Even the ledge on the bridges are marble! Love Chris

Almost time to go and after the most amazing trip of a lifetime! I have loved all the pictures and your description of the places you visited. I wonder what is the most impressive and highlight of your trip? Safe travels, Suzanna

Hi Suzanna, the main highlight of course was going to Bressanone to Santa Maddalena for my birthday and then in second place Stresa on Lake Maggiore. In our opinion much prettier place to visit than Lake Como! Love Chris

You have my prayers for a safe journey home. It's always bittersweet to see such a wonderful vacation end, but so good to see home and to hug the people you love again. Thank you so much for taking us along with you on this incredible journey. I've enjoyed every picture.

Hi Marian, yes, I'm so glad I've downloaded them every night and commented where they were taken. I've also used a journal that my friend Deidre gave me for my birthday before we left to keep record. Love Chris
