Hi Gals, well we've had another amazing day.

My birthday yesterday 10th October was wonderful, we caught a bus out to the Church called Santa Maddelena at the Val di Funes Villnöß, Italy and walked our way up the track. Half an hour later puffed, we sat down and just took in the beauty of the surrounding countryside. It was simply breathtaking.

This is one thing off my bucket list. I've already had my first one and that was a trip to the Holy Land, Israel.

Here are some pictures of the place, unfortunately my pictures don't do the place justice. You have to see it to believe the beauty. God's world is full of beauty and the colours are just awesome. Love Chris

P.S. We are here till Saturday and both of us said we could actually live here!

1. Trev and me having my birthday dinner last night, notice the glasses they had made the serviettes look like roses.
2. Close up of the roses from my Mum and Sister, they are actually Apricot, but look quite dark.
3. Me in front of a wooden owl at the peak of Plose, where you see the Dolomite Alps.
4. The Plose sign as you step off the Gondola.
5. View to the Dolomites from the restaurant where we had lunch outside, as it was a glorious 22C
6. Close up of the Dolomite alps
7. View looking in the other direction at the Austrian Alps.

Hi Suzanna, yes we are in awe too. We don't have huge mountains like this in Australia. The highest mountain in Australia is Mt. Kosciuszko which is 2,228 metres (7,310 ft) above sea level) in the Great Dividing Range.
The mountains up here in Bressanone/Brixen are much taller than that.
We caught a cable car up to The Plose on Wednesday it is a massif (a compact group of mountains) with several peaks near Brixen, Telegraph (2,486 m s.l.m.) and Pfannspitze (2,547 m s.l.m.) I had to look up Massif as I'd never heard of it.
Anyway, we are having a wonderful time exploring all that this area in South Tyrol has to offer. We are very footsore!!! Love Chris

Hi Laura, yes, Trev suggested that and I said -
"No, we couldn't, as I'd miss the family too much"

They are spectacular looking mountains, I can just imagine them in the Winter covered with snow.
