There are a lot of things that I find misleading in advertising, but this morning I found kitchen towels for "sale" and the cost of shipping was the exact same as what the towels costs no matter how many you buy. Nowadays, I always check shipping as well as the cost of things. I find this especially true when buying "used" books or used anything online. Buying the "cheapest" one often costs more than buying the "expensive" one. Ok. I'm just venting today.

So frustrating. MIL asked DH to order more checks for her from her bank. $14 for 80 checks plus $14 shipping. No way to order more than 80 checks at a time. I told them they needed to find a different source for her checks.

I buy breakable antiques on EBay, and find that the sellers who mention that they are not trying to nick you on the estimate of shipping (liar, liar) usually are charging nearly twice what those who don't mention it for a similar sized item. They know how much it weighs and how much it has cost to ship that weight previously. So, it's a red flag for me if they mention it. More than ever, it is "buyer beware."

Keep venting! You are so right about the cost of shipping. And so wise to check on the cost of shipping. With the price of everything skyrocketing, we need to be wise shoppers.

Sneaky tactics and yes we need to check carefully

Yes, sneaky. I'm finding bags of precut veggies that have the product's picture plasted all over the bag...just so the bag looks full when it's has a ton of extra space that is not needed for shipping.
