good morning cuties, i am thinking of buying a new embroidery machine and looking at brother nq 1700 or janome 985, was wondering if anyone has and likes or dislikes either one of them.. thank you in advance

bemara has given excellent advice in buying from a dealer. Our dealers are very important as they provide after care, advice and service our machines. I have Brother machines and have excellent care etc

The most important advice is not to buy on the Internet but from a dealer who can advise you on problems. I myself am a Brother fan and would buy the V3 again, the 1700e is not available in Europe. I also have a larger but use the 24x36 frame for space reasons rarely, but 20x30cm=8'X12' often, Maria

Excellent advice

You have already been given the best advise. I do not know anything about Janome machines, but own Brother and BabyLock. I am very happy with those machines. Good luck with your purchase and let us know what you have decided. Angie

I'm sorry I can't give you advice about either machine. But do think about where you can get whatever machine you do purchase serviced. And I do encourage you to go to a dealer to test out the machines, get questions asked and have access to lessons on using the machine you purchase. I hope you will soon be able to show off your new machine and the projects you make with it.
