My laptop died and I thought I had most of my files on my external hard drive but when I attach it to another laptop it says it is locked and I don't know how it got locked or what to do with it.

I for sure don't know but what occurred to me was maybe it is the other laptop you were trying to use that is locked not your external drive???does this make sense? We have a wonderful Radio Shack store in our little town and they are so helpful whenever we have questions(which if pretty often!!)

I have one where I have to enter a password and it usually aske me for it. Sometimes googling the question helps. Also going on the website of the manufacturer might help with info
