We have a little great-granddaughter that was a premie born about 7 weeks early. She is now 3 1/2 months old. I have been trying to find little blanks to make her a Christmas onesie...oh my goodness she is now wearing a newborn size. I now realize why I quite taking orders to make little shirts and onesie for little ones. Haha

Hunt up the baby snap front shirts or also called diaper shirts by Gerber. They give you a nice big area to stitch in and the surface is flat, so you don't have to do all that tiny rolling to force the onesie into position on the hoop. So glad to read she is thriving. Someday soon she will be an XL onesie! When my dear friend Carolyn became grandmother to a preemie, the daughter couldn't stop crying because she had no hope. Carolyn excused herself from the hospital and went shopping. She came back and hung perfect little dresses across the bedrail. Size 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 1 year, size 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. This helped her daughter see that vision that this child would live and thrive and grow past this brief tiny stage. And she did.

What a great thing for your friend to do. Because of Covid we were not allowed to visit, and did not realize that they almost lost her, as placenta separated.

You have a little fighter in your family. Congratulations. Eventually she will catch up in size. When my twins were born they were very small. My Mom bought dolls cloth. 😊 Before you know it, she will have outgrown the preemie clothe.

She was so tiny when they brought her home at 4lb 4 oz that my daughter (her grandma) went online and bought frilly little doll clothes. We are still having issues with shoes and socks. I wonder why they make baby shoes so wide. This little one's feet are about the length of my little finger.

Thank you...and, yes, we are. We take care of the two girls that live here near us one day a week. Lily is now 4 and started school, and Little Emilia is growing and doing so well. Her little lungs were not developed fully when she was born, but such a smile she can give you. Melts your heart.
