I thought that the problem of dumps was only in poor countries. Maybe it's just that the animals here are people looking for food in the garbage...

Funny to think something looking so soft and cuddly could be so dangerous.

Gosh Carolyn. You have made me stop and think what the most dangerous creature is about where I am and can only think of fellow man (other people). Seagulls in the UK is something in abundance at tips in the UK. Thanks for sharing this great picture and next time my bin os to be emptied which is just over two weeks away I will remember you and your bear

Is he sleeping or is his nose rooting in the pile? As was previously mentioned, he looks like a big black hole, LOL. Thanks for sharing. What a shame some of that cardboard and stuff can't be recycled.

That's a BIG Bear! So sad too. We have bears around here too. I took this picture outside our downstairs window, about 15 feet away. Then he charged toward us. We were inside just behind the window and we got big and loud and he backed off. Then he reared up on his hind legs and charged again. We got bigger and louder and he finally went away. There are people in our neighborhood who let their kids play outside without an adult to watch for bears!

Your photo is like something out of National Geographic.
A very majestic creature but only from a safe distance.

He might need to be on a diet pretty soon. I wonder if he actually finds food amongst cardboard and stuff.
