Well, we knew it would happen. Our Hunter area (my neck of the woods) is in total lockdown till next Thursday! Pray for us as that means all school kids are being home schooled.

Dana is devastated as rehearsals for Priscilla Queen of the Desert are nearing the end and it's supposed to start on the 18th August, we just pray it will still go ahead. Love Chris

I am very confused maybe someone can help me? I live in the US and our borders are open! 7000 new cases from migrant workers reported since February! 1500 in last week in Texas alone from people coming into the Country! We were first told not to wear masks that they do not work it even states it on the box! I checked my box to be sure and it says it right on it! We here were told if we got the vaccination we would be safe and we all see that is not the case! If someone is not vaccinated are they not only endangering themselves? 75% of our new cases in US are vaccinated individuals so I am really confused! I am not political and i am not anti vax I just have some real concerns! My 25 year old 100% healthy niece was just buried due to her vaccination shot it caused blood clots in her stomach and she died! The vax is not even FDA approved and we did the masks the lockdowns the shots and it did not work so i am truly trying to find answers! They tell us get the vax and we do and then they say others should to because they could give it to us then what was the vaccination for?

Hi Lori, I think everyone is in the same boat. Our health officials are hoping that we get 80% of the NSW population vaccinated and that will help us get back to "normal". We could still get Covid, but it won't be life-threatening.
I feel so saddened by all the young people who are dying from getting blood clots and am so sorry to read of your niece, too young to die.
I think the health officials are hiding a lot of information from the general public, it is just so cloak and dagger, isn't it? Love Chris

Thank you so much I just felt like I am going crazy! Each day says something that contradicts the day before! I pray for us all! Please stay safe everyone!

Join the club Chris we have been in lockdown for 8 days and can only go 10 kilometers from home for essential reasons. Like food or medical and no visits from anyone that doesn't live in your house.
We are hoping to come out of it on Sunday if all goes well. Trouble is there are still idiots who won't wear a mask and think the rules don't apply to them. They are the ones who need locking up.
Our Health Minister even said stop shopping online as it means too many delivery people are out and about. If we don't obey the rules there will be no where to shop in the future as they will have all gone out of business.

Hi Barb, yes, my niece lives in a suburb of Brisbane and told me all about it. I really feel for the small business people, they are really struggling. Love Chris

I am sorry that this virus reached you as well. I am not sure how one week of lockdown will accomplish. Hopefully they will get it under control soon. I am so sorry for Dana. My granddaughter never got her wedding day. Instead it became a very cold and official act at the courts. Not even her parents were allowed to attend.

Hi Angie, it worked for one of our country towns called Orange, so we are hoping it will help here. I am sorry to read about your grand-daughter not getting her wedding day, maybe once all this has calmed down they can have one. Love Chris

Chris the news is not good here, with so many sick and dying or in hospital. Pray it gets better before it gets worse, like Italy went through. Our medical people are overworked and this is so stressful for them too, trying to care for others.

I'm so sorry to hear that Toogie, it's so annoying and I feel for the small business and of course our front line personnel. Love Chris

I'm so sorry to hear this. I know it will make it harder for you to take care of your Mum too. Dana and her crew have worked so hard, I'm sorry to hear the play is likely to be put on hold. Be careful and be sure to get our Vitamin D and C. They really do help.

Hi Karen, yes, it affects so many people's lives doesn't it? Only insensitive people to blame. Thanks for the tip about the Vitamins. Love Chris

So sorry you have had to go into lockdown Chris. It only takes one stupid person to cause it which is very annoying. Fingers crossed we down here in Tassie are clear. But like you we say it will only be a matter of time. They are very strict here at the hospitals. I have my hubby in the Emergency Dept. at the Mersey at Latrobe at the moment. Visits are strict. Sign in’s are strict. Masks are strict. I even had to put PPE gear on when I went to visit yesterday. He has to go to Launceston for a procedure tomorrow. I asked if I would be allowed to go in the ambulance with him as I was offered last time he needed to be taken to another hospital, but no COVID has changed all that so I will stay home and pray all goes well for him.

Yes, you are right Shirley, it only takes one silly person to start this off. I do hope you don't have to wear full PPE for too much longer. Love to you, Chris

No Chris only the 1st time I visited. Don’t ask me why. They came in after a hour or so and told me I could take it off.
You check in when entering the hospital and then later if you go to the kiosk you have to sign in again. The other day someone put the wrong date down and 6 or 7 followed suit. I commented on it and the dear old lady went and checked the calendar and came back saying you are right I am going to change all those. The other lady working with her said no you can’t do that, the ones that had put the correct date may have come yesterday. I shook my head paid for my coffee and went back to my hubby.

Hi Chris. Australia has handled COVID well but total lockdown has happened in many parts of the world. In my bit of the UK (Wales) we were in lockdown from late March last year for over 10 weeks, in November we had a month again. In early December we went back in to another total lockdown which went on for ages, sorry I have forgotten how long. Teachers have done an amazing job teaching on line. Many have adapted to working from home. Our younger daughter as many have home schooled their children and carried out their own paid jobs at the same time. Often she would have one child at her side and her husband another in a different room. Key workers have had their children in school as required. Our younger daughter works in a theatre and its only in the last 6 weeks that they have been able to open again with social distancing. Life has changed so Chris I hope that your not in lockdown for too long. Good Luck

Hi Caroline, yes, I know Europe has had it much harder than us down under, and it's all due to some people flouting the rules! We are hoping things settle down soon too! Love Chris

Stay safe and well. Thinking of you and yours.

We are getting our second injection on the 27th. Here in the West we have been very fortunate, had a few very "silly" offenders so very selfish I just cannot understand these people. I expect you may have seen the photo of many sheets tied together from the top floor of a hotel, this very stupid person only received a fine of $4000, if it was me I would have thrown the book at him.

One good thing you can enjoy your time at home doing what you love best.

Hi Sewmad, I'm glad to read you are getting your second shot soon, mine isn't till September! I'm just about to rearrange my sewing area to help the girls have their desks out here in my sewing room! Love Chris
