Toogie, these look just right! Exactly what my friend needs for "Little" thirty-two year old daughter. I make them for them. I love you quilting. That would bel a great idea. She will love them!
Parents always appreciate them so my hats off to you for helping this family out. Thanks Jan
If some of the old bibs are pretty worn out, I wonder if you could cut and salvage the piece of Baby-Dry?
I am not sure about that, but surprisingly, they are holdIng up pretty good. Also, the size hasn’t needed to be adjusted in a few years. I guess people’s necks don’t grow that much after puberty.
Gosh, your post confused me when you said "when Hancock Fabric" went out of business. They are still online so I'm confused by that.
These are very utilitarian and having that snap sure makes them easy to put on! Did you make them so that you could turn them inside out?
Ok now you have me confused by ‘Did you make them so you could turn them inside out?’
By that, if you meant I placed the right side of quilted top to the right side of Baby Dry, leaving an opening for turning right side out, then yes I did. I then top stitched all around and the stitching closed the opening too.
Hancock’s of Paducah is still in business but Hancock Fabrics has closed all their stores for several years now. I was always able to get Avery’s rubberized waterproof backing there.
Very nice bibs the quilting really is an added touch.
As a gift for a teen boy, that is hard. I have made small zipper pouches and given to four different boys and men, a preteen, teenager and two adult men. the pouches are big enough to put driver's license, credit card, cash, hunting/fishing license but small enough to fit in the front pocket of jeans. They all use them. You can also add cash or gift card, then they will be sure to like it. Wishing you Happy Holidays!!
Thanks Pam
I’ve already bought his ‘real’ gift this was just a little something extra, for stockings. They get their main gift under the tree. Merry Christmas to you & a Happier, safer New Year!
Well done. Love the detail. Avery will wear them proudly
I wanted to give some different texture by quilting a little different. I love that pink fabric, the feel is wonderful. It was a fat quarter given to me by MSQC on my quilting trip. Real good quality. Thanks A-Toogie
Avery will be decked out in all of her new bibs....
Thanks K, I made the white for church and don't know if the gold will match anything but sure like the fabric.
Avery is always the best dressed young lady thanks to you. I like being able to see the quilting, to be honest. I like the texture it gives. We have an almost 17 year old who helps us out. He has been building up his tool box with the money he earns. I have no idea if this helps, but it is a thought.
Although Caleb drives and has his own car to go to school, I don't know if he would know what to do with a tool. His dad is like that. Never learned any repairs, whether it be car, plumbing, carpentry. They always had to get my hubby to go or call a pro to do the job. Mason's dad's dad (grandpa) was the same way, hired help, because never learned. He will most likely get more candy or $$
Thanks about the bibs. If you have to wear them, they need to look nice....
Nice work Toogie, you certainly know how to make a necessity look fab!
Boys that age ... my eldest grandson turned 18 last week and collected his driving license the day after. So driving his father's car and using his computer seem to be his only interest at the moment :)
I hope you come up with a smart idea for Mason.
Thanks, unfortunately she still needs them but thank goodness I still have my backing.
Mason is the same so I guess it doesn't matter where you are from, the boys have similar ways.
4 wonderful bibs for Avery! You have been so very busy! Well done!!
I can not being to count how many of these bibs I have made over the years. The school has a lady makes bibs for the kids, so they were surprised Avery has her own. Thanks
