Hi Cuties, just thought I'd let you know that Amy, Steve, Ophelie, Delphi and their dog Maisie (a golden retriever cross Poodle - known as a Groodle) are moving in with us this weekend.

They are knocking down their little 110 year old miner's cottage and will be building a lovely architecturally designed 2 storey home. Unfortunately due to Covid making everything delayed, their builder won't be starting till the end of January, but they are over living in this old home and just want to get out. Most of their furniture is stored in my Mum's garage. And luckily for them Amy's best friend Natalie moved into a new unit and Amy has loaned her their lounge suite, dining table and chairs, an Ottoman (storage container) a TV unit and Delphi's desk. Come this weekend Amy's washing machine, dryer and Fridge will be going to Natalie too. I'll be coming and going there this week to bring clothes and necessities they need here.
We have 6 weeks left of school and then a week till Christmas and the way this year has flown by these next few weeks will go before I know it. Our school year begins the last week of January, so we have 6 weeks of holidays over the Christmas/ New Year break.
The girls go to school a 16 minute drive from where we live, but don't start till 9.25 and finish at 3.25 so Trev and I may sometimes have to take them. Both Amy and Steve start work at 8.30 and sometimes they'll be able to take them. We'll just have to work things out and I'm sure we can do that. It's just going to be a shuffle with 4 cars in our driveway etc.
We are really looking forward to having them here especially Maisie as she just loves going for a walk and the beach is only 5 mins away. Plus the fact that Steve and Amy are both great cooks! Summer is just around the corner for us Aussies. Love Chris

Thanks Marian, yes, we are both very organised people maybe even a bit anal. She is great at packing and putting thing in their place and has had to with her small home and no storage. So, living with us and all of our cupboard space she will be in 7th heaven! Love Chris

Hi Shirley, yes, it's going to be chaotic I'm sure, but it will be wonderful having extra cooks to share the load. Love Chris

Hi Angie, yes, it will be. I'm looking forward to having a dog again, she's such a sweetie and loves walking, swimming and running. Only thing is we mustn't let her overdo it too much as she's got a weakened ligament in her back left hand leg. Love Chris

Just curious, how long might it take to build? In U.S. because of interest and business loan constraints, builders try to finish in 60 daysl, Failing that, 90 days, Profit margins!

I'm sure you will all have some wonderful times especially with the school holidays and Christmas and no doubt create many wonderful memories.

May I also welcome you to living in a new form of chaos which will also have it's challenges and moments.
Hugs Lynne

You will have a house-full! But, I bet you'll so enjoy it - we did the same with our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter a couple of years ago. They were in between houses. Every night, we would get a goodnight kiss from our granddaughter - it was lovely!! Hugs, Laura

This is a great expression of love that you have for them! I'm sure that you'll have fun while they are with you, and be lonely when they move into their new home.

Thanks Penny, yes, we will have a great time I'm sure. I don't think I'll ever be lonely though as all the family live no more than 16 mins away. Love Chris

Wow, you have taken on the biggest Pandemic project of any Cutie I know. Saying prayers for your joy, patience, and endurance during this time, and at the lead up to Christmas, too. Wow, again, Chris. Congratulations to the kids on the upcoming new house.

Hi Betsey, yes, it's going to be a bit challenging, but Amy's a great help and so are the girls. Steve is such a great cook so I'm looking forward to some wonderful dinners. They are bringing their Pasta maker here so can't wait to have home made Pasta. Love Chris

Hi Suzanne, the kids are very active and as we are coming into summer here which is supposedly 3 months, we actually still visit our beaches in April and May! They have a swing that Steve has put up in the reserve behind out back gate and they love board games and watching me sew. It will be a good time to improve Ophelie's sewing skills. Love Chris

Have fun. Been there and had a great time in the process but we did it in the winter months. My closet Cutie friend is 18 months in with her son, wife and 4 children with her while they build

Wow! Caroline, that is an awfully long time to be waiting for a home to be built. I can empathise with her though as we've had kids come and go over the past 15-20 years! They never really leave do they? Love Chris

So nice they get to stay with you. It is hard sometimes when 2 families live together but your love gets you through any difficulties that may pop up. It's always great to have our Grand kids with us.

Hi Miss Lillian, yes, they are so excited and it's not the first time Amy and Steve have lived with us. When they came back from England years and years ago they lived with us. It was wonderful as Steve would cook every night! Of course there were no children then. Love Chris
