It looks like fun to make - and you can really use of lots of leftover fabrics! Love it and the black really sets it off nicely too!
How big are the squares?
This looks so cheerful.
approx 12 inches sq i start with 13 or 14 inch lawn sew on all strips and trim them back when all are done
Thank you for showing us. It looks great! I have seen them done different ways and I like how you separated them with your sashing. To be honest, there have been a few strip quilts that get me dizzy😵 It is like I have nothing to focus on. Some are ok but blocking them off with the sashing helps me anyway. Do you sew your strips to any kind of stabilizer such as paper, Muslim, etc?
I have been trying to make precuts and am using most of my stash for that. However I do get some pieces that are narrower than 2 1/2 inch so I evened them up and they will be sewn together for something. Who knows may even be a strip quilt-lol-
Another question about thread. I have a time figuring out which thread color to use. I just finished a top and it has multicolored squares and black sashing in between. What color and don’t tell me monofilament we don’t get along😩
toogie i sew my strips onto lawn at spotlight for $2 mtr threads another story its ok no monofilament with so many colors i find grey blends in best the stippling color varies
Gosh I hope Soozie is not sewing her strips to "Muslims" Toogie - he he he! Love Chris
This quilt is certainly a centerpiece in the bedroom. So bright and cheerful. It's amazing how valuable those bits and pieces of fabric can be and what beautiful quilts can be made for them.
Another lovely quilt that you have created from bits and pieces. I realise I need to save more of the bits and pieces and make something
love how you can use leftover strips and make something beautiful with them.
Nice. I saw it peeking out from underneath your other one. A little dent in the scrap bin.
somehow the scrape bin does nor shrink very much dont know why...lol...soozie
