Last night we got to see “Fawlty Towers “ a dinner/theatre show that was Mum’s 86th birthday present back in January. It was originally booked for April, but Covid hit and it was put off till August, that got cancelled, then beginning of October, that got cancelled, so last night we finally saw it. It was hilarious.

Mum thoroughly enjoyed herself and went along with all the constant teasing about her being elderly etc. it was great to get out with all the kids bar Dana (one of her teacher colleagues had died at (52) after a knee operation on Tuesday!! I don’t know all the circumstances yet, but all the staff and children at her school are devastated. A good laugh was what we all needed. Love Chris
1. Amy,Steve and Trevor
2. Ben and Mia
3. Mum and I
4. Manuel (putting on his gloves for the 5th time!!!)
5. Basil holding up an upper set of false teeth that supposedly had fallen in the soup that belonged to the chef. Of course it was deliberately put in Mum’s soul as the birthday girl!!
6. Mum with Cybil and Manuel
7. Mum laughing her head off.

I am so envious Chris. I have the whole series and often when there is nothing much on TV, Klaus and I watch one or two of them. They just never seem to date.

I actually got a message from Ben saying they went home and watched a couple of episodes to check it out. They were very impressed by the actors at our dinner as they really sounded and looked like the real ones.
At our dinner show Basil actually did the one where he had the white bandage (in our case women's undies!!) on his head and did the goosestep. He picked on one of the audience who had the name Schultz and course the German episode "Don't mention the war"! Great series for sure. Love Chris

Hi Karen, you are so right. Laughter is the best medicine. I just wish Dana could have come, she was so devastated by the death of her colleague from school. Love Chris

Hi Kim, we had the best night. If you can, look it up on You Tube. John Cleese is an English actor and was renowned for his character Basil Fawlty, which were produced in the mid 70's. There were only 12 series made. All with very British humour of course.
He was also involved with the Monty Python gang movies - Life of Brian, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, A Fish called Wanda and more recently Q in the James Bond movies. He's the guy who invents all of James' weaponry. Love Chris

Hi Caroline, I would love to see an English version, but our guys did do a great job. The actor who played Basil, sounded and moved just like John Cleese taking the mickey out of us all. The guy who played Manuel too was brilliant as was the actor who played Cybil, her wig was just like Cybil's in Fawlty Tower. Love Chris
