I was just reading the posts on pennyhal2's doldrums. I think many of us are experiencing the same feelings too. I know I'm struggling to start projects too. And I am realizing that a part of the problem can be a little bit of depression. Our entire lives have been upended. So many of us now live in fear. Our routines are so very different and for so many, we can't even see our loved ones and friends. So now, how can we help each other to feel better, get back our energy, to walk back into our sewing rooms?

I got lazier and lazier over the last 7 months. So I set myself a goal of knitting one item for charity a week, finished this week's today; and sewing some as well - usually some shirt or dress, this week I made a quilt top using a set of tests of designs I digitised a few years ago. I have a box full of those sets.
I did some extra 'stash management' as well. Did three cash register 1 meter strips. Seeing Toogies strips inspired me.
And a new sewing machine in February helps too. There are new things to learn as I've had Husqvarna machines since 1980 and the new one is a Bernina.
When I put today's sweater with the others I was quite pleased. Seeing the results is an incentive to persevere.

It is not too bad here where I live at the moment but I have not got the get up and go to do any sewing. Seem to have lost interest and energy. Hugs

Things are a little easier here in South Australia but it is still depressing. We don't realise how much freedom we used to have. I often wonder if things will ever get back to our old Normal. I just can't make myself get my Machines out so this is why I am doing the Crocheted animals. Thank Goodness we have friends and the Internet.

Each day this week I have met friends outside and been able to catch up with them. Even managed to have a very unusual AGM outside all sitting well apart in a park. Two hours of laughter and then back home to my new machine and sewing.

For me I make phone calls or e-mail and even send a few cards. This
is fun for me to see what has been posted each day. Thank you one and all for your sharing.
