Hi Cuties, When I went to quilt my last quilt my quilting machine was so dusty. You could run your finger on just about any spot & it would ball up😳didn’t need to do a white glove test😉😂 When I cleaned furniture never thought to wipe machine.

Because it stays here by our unused ‘garage’ door I wanted something kinda nice looking and also kind match furniture.
But now I’m thinking 🤔 it’s kinda plain- maybe I should emb something? What you think?
I thought about the name of machine, it has a crown on top of the name, but I’d have to do 3 hooping and try to keep it straight, even.
Also, my quilting is kinda puffy. Can I emb wording on top or do I need to make a patch?
I did make a design of the name, actually 3 to go together. It would measure 12 in wide and about 4 inch tall. If I made a patch I would have to try to do a satin stitch all around with my regular machine.🙄 my hoop is only 5x7.
First picture is side view by light.
Second- front of machine
Third side by motor and thread guide stand( pity is doesn’t lower like my server thread guide, because it pokes up the cover)
Fourth is machine showing name- 3 designs I made is similar although not exact crown or font.

A friend suggested appliquéing leaves... any of you want to share your thoughts?

In thinking about it, I think I'd put a wss topper on the area you intend to stitch a design on. I think that it is possible that the puffiness would create wrinkles under the design which would cause a problem. You might make a test block to see what works best.

Should not be a problem embroidering on the quilted piece. I played around with my 5x7 hoop and came up with this idea. Should work for you. Hugs. Nan

Thanks Nan, yes I could fit something in a 5x7 hoop it's just that I want to fill in some of the space and a 5x7 by itself would look lost on this size cover, in my humble opinion.

Then how about adding 4 corner designs that you could add one at a time?

I thought of appliquing quilt patches across the front...

I like the thought of the Applique leaves. I think that would be ideal. Hugs

I put this together- not sure if I could keep it in line as I’d have to do three hoopings- the crown is not exactly the same as on the machine nor are the Q’s- it would give a little color and it’s about 4 inch by about 12 in- until I’m sure I’ll leave it plain- maybe it will grow on me-😂🤣

It looks great Toogie, I was thinking of a simple 5x7 design of a sewing machine, either ME or appliqued! I do like the idea of leaves too, it depends on what you like.
I thought of sewing needs, eg. pins, needles, tape measure, scissors, unpickers, etc. etc. Either way whatever you do will be wonderful, I am sure. Love Chris

I love it as it is. But I am not the right person to comment: most of my machines rest under a teatowel, whether it's a serger, an embroidery machine or my Kenwood mixer, unles they came with a cover. Colourful leaves sounds great!

I needed to have something a little nicer than my bath towel (lol) because it sits in my open living room/kitchen area. I need it there to move & butt up to my big table, while quilting my quilts. We don't have to move it but a couple feet, thank goodness because it's pretty heavy. Maybe I will leave it blank until I am 'inspired' by something....thanks

Very neat cover love the stippling you have made a good fit of it not easy when bits stick up or out and you can't do anything about it.
If you can print out designs do what you think you might like on it and pin it on and see what you think.

Thanks that's a good idea.
I watched a you tube video, Sew Very Easy's 'How to make your own custom sewing machine cover'. I just had to find a cardboard big enough for my side. I had a box I took apart. You are right about the look. Even though it's the same size cover on both ends, one end has the light and head of machine while the other end has the motor, hand wheel of machine and tall, upside down L shape, thread stand guide.

Even though I was warned when I bought my embroidery machine that everything in my house would be covered in little designs in 6 months, I don't think your lovely cover needs anything more at all, unless you just HAVE to.

lol-I just thought because it is such a large blank space, and a soft color fabric, it needed something more....someone suggested a large crown for the Queen. I don't know if she meant the machine or ME!-lol

Now that is a very useful project! A lot better than the plastic covers I have.

i just have the word "love" on my cover.

This cover is so big it needs something larger than my hoop size, so that will mean multiple hooping. I think just one 5x 7 would look worse on this cover than nothing at all because it’s 32 1/2 in wide and 22 inches high.

With the pretty color fabric you used - I think applique leaves sound perfect!! Hugs to you, Laura

I agree. Their shapes makes the application easier.

I may end up doing this but I’m open to any other ideas. Thanks you two
