Anyone made anything interesting today? I have been asked to make two embroidered blankets as presents for dogs owned by my younger daughter. So that is what I have been working on today

What have I done today? Went shopping for groceries. Made a chicken curry. Did some tidying up in the garden. Had a Face Time call with my son in law’s mother in UK, who has been by herself since lockdown apart from seeing neighbours every now and again. She was so pleased to hear from me that I felt guilty that I had not spoken to her for a month. Took dog for walk. Came home and collapsed with a glass of wine in front of television.

Gosh it’s exhausting reading about your day Sarah.

Hi Caroline, I took Mum and her dog to the Vet as it was Lily's annual checkup, vaccinations etc. Then we went to an animal shop to buy a 6 month pack of 'Simparica' a tic/flea treatment. I then went and did my shopping and came home and made a Bacon and Vegetable quiche for dinner.
This morning I sewed a Christmas FSL Elf, so intend to do some more tomorrow. I love FSL, love Chris

Interesting that you can get flea treatment from a shop. Have to buy from the vet for decent stuff in the UK. A neighbour who is a vet uses collars for her cats that are about £80 a go. They must work but jolly expensive. You too sound as if you have been busy

I spent all day covering my vanity stool. I used a 3" foam and that may have been the problem, but now it's double done and I'm happy with it.

Like Toogie says.
I hate new washers as well. Mine does not rinse long enough for my liking and like yours it sprays and I don't like that. I baby sit it and when it has finished with it's rinse cycle I turn it off and forward to the rinse cycle again before it empties the water and turn it on to wash a bit more. I find it very annoying. I have been putting up with this for for the past 15 years. I think it was designed by a man in a hurry. LOL

lol- I say the same thing because if a man had to use it, he would improve the design and the time it took.

Designed to be very economical on water consumption.

I have been watching and rescuing my dog all day. She is wearing the color of shame to prevent her from licking the incision. Of course she has a hard time fitting through anything. She is also forever bumping that plastic cone into the back of my leg. After 2 weeks of that they will think I am an abused women.

The only creativity I managed today was to clean and set up the bedroom in our new (used) 5th wheel. Oh and get its bathroom sink cleaned and usable. Thank goodness for AC. Toogie, try using some essential oil on a wool ball to help get the smell out when the clothes are in the dryer. I've had the same problem and so I let the clothes soak and then wash them. It has helped.

After I wash the clothes in a full tub of water they don't smell and are clean. It's the just 'spray the clothes cycle' that leaves the work clothes still smelling sweaty. Yuck! So every load I wash. takes 2 hours just to wash, because I always fill that tub.....I want clean, fresh smelling clothes and a washer like they used to make!

Not me. I have been almost useless today. I have just been sitting outside on my porch, watching the neighbor in the distance mowing and dust flying everywhere. It's so dry here. I thought about making something, a door hanging that I have had cut out for weeks now or just a zipper bag, but that's all I've done. Just thought about it. I think the heat makes one lazy...or maybe I'm looking for an excuse. Another excuse could be, I need to straighten up and put away leftovers, from last projects, before I drag out anymore. My week has really been out of the ordinary, so it's hard to get my groove back. Good to see you're being productive, though. Maybe Monday I will get a fresh start.

Life is out of sync at the moment and it’s it easy sometimes. My sewing room is a constant tidying up project...

Sorry, I was the washerwoman today. It's done. Totally uninspiring.

Oh you just reminded me, I should wash a load of whites. I do not like my 'new' washer. To get it to fill the tub with water like I like, it takes almost TWO HOURS just to wash a load. I might be 'old fashion' in my thinking, but just spraying water on my clothes, doesn't take the dirty clothes smell out or make me think they are that clean. It's 100 degrees here and if you go out at all you sweat!

Sadly it’s often only when we have bought a new washer etc that we find out exactly how they work and not as we would like.

shirley124 by shirley124 edited 22 Aug 2020

I don't like the latest washes either.

jrob by jrob 23 Aug 2020

Neither did I like them, so I bought a made in the USA, Speed Queen Commercial Heavy Duty washer and dryer. It FILLS UP with water!

airyfairy by airyfairy 25 Aug 2020

We must be very behind here in S. Africa as I have never heard of a machine spraying. I love my locally made top loader that does a ‘normal’ wash in under an hour

asterixsew by asterixsew 25 Aug 2020

Not seen a top loader in years
