I have a question for you about private messages. Like most Cuties, I never ever have a problem letting our Cute Community know where I bought a design from privately - and for newbies, I welcome them and let them know. But, many newbies I have never seen on Cute Embroidery or have they even left a comment on anyone's project or they don't even say they liked what I have stitched - - they just want to know where I found the design. What do you think - how should I handle these requests? Thanks and stay safe! Laura

Whle I find it rude, it is in my nature to help when someone asks for help. I think we are all like that. I'm not going to change because of others' incosiderate behavior. I don't want to become like them. So, I just put it aside and forget it. Sometimes that is difficult to do but, in the end, it is better for me.

I am like you, willing to help anyone who ask. It's just common courtesy to respond, with a simple 'Thank you', to acknowledge they have received the answer they needed and a bonus, if they actually use the knowledge, by showing you what they've made. After all, you took the time to help, how hard is a thank you. Sadly, I think we live in an age that hasn't learned the 'polite rules of engagement' and live in an age of 'grab it and go'. I feel sometimes kindness does not come natural, as often, anymore. Sadly, we see this more and more.

Laura the best way would be to post right away where you bought the design. If you are not sure if the site is abiding by copyright, send a PM to the moderators and they will be more then happy to check it out for you. The comment "I send you a PM" looks as if one needs to hide something. Miss Veronika is so kind letting us show projects that are not using her designs (I am a FSL gal and there not too many here available). All she is asking not to add links to companies that sell stolen designs wether they are bought or digitized yourself or use the site as free advertising.

As moderators we often answer questions and very rarely get response wether the answer helped or if further info is needed. I tell myself that a newbie does not know how to add to a post. I do not want to believe that rudeness has crept into our normal, however sometimes it is obvious.

A interesting question and I look forwards to seeing the replies. I think many visit here but don’t comment unless... Thinking while reading if people can’t even comment don’t bother giving info. It on other hand they must like what you have done or they wouldn’t ask. I genuinely haven’t a clue where many of my designs have come from so maybe I need to be more organised or observant. It’s annoying when you have gone out of your way to be helpful and there is no comment / thanks / or to even see what they do with the design.

I truly don't mind helping someone. But, the last couple of request have been newbies that just ask, "where did you find the ______ design?" Cuties here are always very polite and kind - and there is always a "thank you".
