Good for you for learning how to make bread! Yes, it was a compliment and it sure looks yummy to me! I too love to make and eat fresh bread. The smell just reels me into the kitchen where I pig out on it. My husband is on a low salt diet so I don't put much salt in it, but the bread needs some salt for the yeast to work properly, so I can't totally eliminate it.
Salt can be a terrible problem for some people. My husband does not eat a lot of salt. He is terribly health conscience but he loves my ciabatta bread.
Yum!! There is nothing better than the smell of bread baking which is my my favorite food. Good for you for not giving up.
Oh, my first thought is, Yummy!!! I would love to have one right now!! Well done - you have become a wonderful baker!!!
Oh my Sarah, I am impressed too and I can’t benefit like your hubby! As much as I love to smell and eat bread I have never tried my hand at baking it. I used to crave the German brotchen bread. I may have it spelled wrong but Angie will know what I’m talking about. My dh used to go out in the early morning hours and get me some before reporting for duty. I couldn’t get enough. I would love some today😉😃
Yes I know what you are talking about. In my youth we would get fresh Brötchen delivered in the morning. Yummy. Today I made apricot jam. That would go wonderful with it.
That is a great compliment! I had to learn high altitude baking and it took quite a while due to lack of knowledge. Lol!
If it tastes as well as it looks(and I'm sure it does) you had done a great job!
Sarah they looks delicious. Yes your husband gave you a compliment.
A few month ago I stumbled over "no knead bread" on YouTube. I have been making my own bread since. So easy. Problem is, I eat way to much of it 😊. Fortunately I had bought yeast and 50 pound of bread flower before the shut down.
I love baking and especially bread making.... These look delish and Ciabatta is one of our favorites...
I also love bread but unfortunately it doesn’t like me very much. I can eat cakes and biscuits with no problems so it cannot be gluten.
Not sure. It may be like: she makes all her own clothes (and they look like it.) Hope it was delish.
Loos great and makes the whole house smell so good. I bake my own bread too... Yeast is hard to find here but I got 2 pounds before everything was shut down so I am good. Yes it is a compliment from hubby... Great job!
I can remember my grandmother making bread which needed much kneading. This is much less work at the dough is stretched
Looks good! Nice crust, nice shape.
I always bake my own bread, but it is not easy to buy strong flower, either white or wholemeal, the last few weeks. Some came in just in time last week. There is, however, no shortage of bread.
When I am not in the mood for kneading I use my old breadmaker on the dough setting and only finish by hand.
Oh mops this looks so good but let me tell you what I did😩. Over 50 years ago when we lived in Germany, for Christmas a neighbor baked us a bread so pretty and shaped like a Christmas tree. Although I love breads, I couldn’t bear to mess it up by eating part of it. You guessed it. I kept it so long it molded😩😢😢
Oh, yum! I think it looks better than store bought! I wish we had "smell-a-vision" here on Cute 😋
Mmmmm, smells good and tastes good and looks great too! I think your hubby gave you a wonderful and well deserved complement.
Looks like the real deal to me. I am sure it tastes wonderful. Hugs. Nan
Scrumptious looking bread Sarah. What a great compliment you have received. Many I know have put on weight during lockdown due to an excess of bread. There has been a flour and yeast shortage in the UK but I did make some yummy Chelsea buns a few weeks ago.
Stunning Sarah. Trev and I love our Ciabata. Our local Baker makes bread without Soy, so I can enjoy all of his bakes. I've been using my Breadmaker a lot during lockdown too, but mostly Multigrain bread. Love Chris
Sure is a compliment and I'm sure it tastes better than shop bought. Hugs Maureen
