I have always said that buying fabric is a investment. I have many projects to work on and enjoying myself
Too funny!!!
My stash has it's limits. Lot's and lots of fabric and no elastic in site, all ribbon has been used up and replacing it seems to fall in the category "Toilet Paper"ππ
Decorative elastic is still available in places. Hair ties can be used too. I understand that many wearing them all day have sore ears from the elastic, so it may be better to use fabric ties.
I know you have probably thought about it but you can cut your own strips for ties and they can be cut straight grain here, not on the bias. I rather ties myself.
I'm so overprepared. Was feeling sorry for the owner of my sewing machine store. She told me her mother in law taught her to never buy fabric unless she was going to cut the dress out that day, so she has no stash. But, oh, wait a minute, she has KEYS to the store.
And I am so very glad that I am 'prepare'. I was just wondering yesterday how people without hobbies are managing to fill their time. I'm surprised at how the days are flying by. But then I am an introvert so I like being at home.
I'm prepared but hubby isn't. He has to get out every day. Today he is home from work and has been to the store and back now working on a car. I do not know what he is going to do once he retires.
That's right! My daughter needed elastic and I was her 'supply shop'!
LOL
It is lovely to be prepared. I don't have to worry about "nothing to do" because I have so much to do!
I just got a text from someone saying they wish they had a craft, that I was lucky I had my sewing. The thing is if I get bored I can sew, but right now I am just busy cooking and gardening. I have made mask, but I need to start a purse or a quilt.
I have a few jealous friends too. They are trying to figure out what to do with themselves.
