I had a flashback to 9th grade this morning . Let me explain.

I woke up all congested - head, nose, throat, lungs. While trying to "clear the pipes", so to speak, I reached for our dwindling and precious supply of tissues. "I have to come up with an alternative," I thought.

Then, suddenly, I'm back in my 9th grade English class, thinking, "I'm never gonna use this stuff!" as I listen to my teacher drone on about the Canterbury Tales character who tied a cup under his chin to catch his drool...

So, I'm now off to YouTube to see if there's a tutorial on just how you attach a cup to your chin, but first I need to apologize to that teacher!
-------------------
PS: I'm okay, I have a pre-existing lung condition and cold, damp, Winter weather makes it flare up. Yes, it's still Winter here, no mater what the calendar says... I don't have a temperature nor a cough. So no need to worry.

Stay well! Hugs* to all, Deb

Hey, Guys, they also make wipes for adults. I have used them for years. They are great for your bottom, but not for your plumbing. Small trash can by your toilet with a plastic bag works great. I haven't used toilet tissue at home in ages. Clean the kitty litter and it all goes out into the trash.
Don't forget to take your vitamin C and wash your paws a lot.
Stay safe.

I remember as a child when we had colds, Mother has several of us so she would take an old cloth dish towel or such and pin it to our jamies or gown so we could fine it at night. then come morning she would toss it in the trash. just a small square cloth work great.

Great idea! The tossing in the trash is a very important point! Not sure where you are - but folks in the US were using old t-shirts as toilet paper and FLUSHING it. Created quite a sewer problem!

OH my, what a good memory you have! You take care of yourself and I think a lot of folks are wishing they had a stash of hankies. And hope you find a picture of that chin cup. I'd say we need to think of an upper lip cup if things get really bad.

Unfortunately, it's only the long term memories I tend to retain.... I still can't recall why I just walked into a room. HA! a double decker cup! I'll get right on that!

In Japan it is the height of bad manners to blow ones nose in public. You could make some cotton hankies for yourself

You have snow and we have pollen. I am really holed up in my house because if I get out I will be sick with my allergies. Can’t afford to get sick with anything sinus or cold related ,at this time for sure. Take care of yourself, you were out shoveling snow just the other day and remember your patient needs you!

I have the allergy thing, too - but that's month's away. Not fun! I'm keeping away from my hubby as much as possible. You take care, too!

I remember those!

I haven't found a link yet with the instructions. I have hankies somewhere, but need to send a search party to find them and the National Guard is busy elsewhere. πŸ˜„

Yea! Let's bring back the hanky!
