I did not know the name of this beautiful bird I photographed in a Wildlife Park in Victoria (Australia). Was only after searching on Google that I realized it was a Bush Stone-curlew, considered critically endangered in Victoria and New South Wales.

Thanks for looking.

Such a beautiful looking bird Roberta. We've got one very similar looking up near our local medical centre. I'm not sure if it is this species, but it certainly looks like it, maybe a juvenile as its legs aren't that long yet. Great shot by the way. Love Chris

Such a beautiful bird. I've always been a bird watcher ( I'm almost sure my new neighbors think my binoculars are aimed at them lol)but I 'll have them towards the woods trying to see which bird I hear calling or singing.

I like to taking pictures of birds, I have patience and a very good camera, the zoom lens allow me to stay far away so not to disturb my subjects. Birds watching is very relaxing, the walks on the woods healthy and the rewards exciting.
Thanks and hugs

You should inform the Wildlife Park of your sighting. My nephew 'counts' birds for the wildlife management here. I beautiful bird and photo is so good, too. You should frame it.
