I have tried many and all work for me . I slow down my machine and set the spool on the floor on a stand
I have only tried Robison-Anton and I have had no issues with it.
Most expensive, probably - Floriani. Because it is encased in plastic or mylar or some DuPont product to make it smooth. Stitches flawlessly. If you can't swallow that price because you need a lot of yardage, definitely slow the machine, spool it out on a thread stand, try spool upside down, run thread through a drinking straw to keep it from kinking, whatever it takes. And my best hint - stitch FSL on a day when you are happy, calm, unscheduled, with not a frustration or hurry in the world.
oh what good advice, love the saying on a happy day, stress free. and will try the drinking straw method. thanks ever so much.
I have used ThreadArt metallics with great success. My machine does best when the thread is allowed to be spun off from the upright spool pin on the machine in a horizontal line to the pre-tension thread guide. I also reduce the speed. No net, no thread stand.
I have had great success with Maderia...I buy the 5000m cones. It does come in a couple of different weights... I have 35# and 40# and they both run well... I can run in top and bobbin together usually at 1000spm depending upon the design and fabric. I do not have to change my tensions either...
