California is at it again. Took a 4.5 earthquake ride last night. All is well here, nothing fell down, just a lot of shaking. So far there have been 11 quakes in the same area but most were around 2.0. We only felt the 4.5 at our house.

On October 17th it will be the 30th anniversary of the Loma Prieta earthquake which was a 6.9 (link to its wiki page below). During that one I was home with my first son (and only child at that time). He slept through it and silly me tried to walk down the hall to him. It's true you can not walk well during an earthquake.

I just remember Johnny Carson (tv personality) always said California had only three seasons - Earth, Wind, and Fire. Hope you're through for a long while, now.

I wonder if they consider these events as a swarm and I pray they do not trigger a bigger event. I recently watched the movie San Andreas with Dwayne Johnson. Something bigger could be devastating to the entire state and country. I will start watching the news. Nah, I will look here for updates. Thank you for informing me.

Yes, I believe this is considered a swarm. I've had a larger swarm closer to my house a few years ago. They were all small but there were a lot more (maybe a hundred).

Pretty scary stuff. We had one here in 1989. "Newcastle earthquake occurred in Newcastle, New South Wales on Thursday, 28 December. The shock measured 5.6 on the Richter magnitude scale and was one of Australia's most serious natural disasters, killing 13 people and injuring more than 160" .
Trevor, myself and the kids were up on a houseboat cruising the Myall Lakes when we heard about it - on a transistor radio!!!!! Trevor used to work for BHP (at that time the biggest steel making Company in Australia) and the plant was ok but areas around were damaged. I remember driving back through some suburbs that had been badly damaged and it was eerie.
Thankful to hear that you are o.k. Love Chris

I remember the Loma Prieta earthquake well. I thought my husband was buried in his shop that was in the Marina district in S.F. Pretty frightening.
I am glad you are ok and from what I hear on the news no major damage. I wonder about the frequency they are happening.
