ok here is the santa I found a few days ago..... I finally had a try at it and it is sooo cute! In the picture you can't really see my son's name on his beard, but it is there. Next time I will use a darker thread. This is of course a free design(the best kind!) I plan on making these for Cristmas presents and stringing them together as a banner. Also in the picture you can't see but he has textures on his hat! If anyone has any secret tips(suggestions) for FSL please add them I ALWAYS love to learn! Better yet if ya know of somewhere I could read on the "proper" way I would Love it! I was just kinda going on what I have learned so far from ALLLLL of your wonderful FSL projects I have seen! Especially Shirlene and her bookmarks!

p.s. I think I am hooked

Lisa, what a wonderful job you have done - I believe that we all learn from doing mostly - but always use at the very least two layers of Water Soluable Stabilizer - I use one that has a material (mesh) look to it. Use the same embroidery thread in the top and bobbin thread - clip any hanging threads as they occur - that way you will not have any messes later, don't over stretch your stablizer in your hoop either - it will distort your design - if you can see any pulling or distortion in your design as it is stitchinig - float an extra layer of stablizer on the top or bottom of your hoop - when you are finished - clip out of the hoop and close, but not too close to the thread as to cut it - about 1/4 - then rinse in warm to hot water - I sometimes will even use a bit of soft soap to get all the stablizer out - but that is my perference to have it soft - you may want it to be stiff - don't rinse all the stabilizer out - blot between a terry cloth or towel and lay flat - then if you can not wait for it to dry - use a hair dryer to dry it - always scan it or take a picture and record info on the name that you save it under - so you will not have so much trouble remembering where you got it from later - when asked - the scan or picture will serve as a reference for what you have stitched and how many projects you have accomplished - that is why I love to post mine - it just shows - that you can make many things throughout the year - if you just attempt to do it - thanks Lisa so much for asking to have more info posted - I love your project and can't wait to see more of them - as time goes by - that banner ought to look really wonderful. *4U

Check Embroidery Library for directions and etc. I find them very helpful and have printed off quite a few. I also got the Name Santa's. I plan to stitch them out and place on the gifts. I was just thinking about trying one to see how they stitch out. Looks like they will be nice. Good job. FSL is beautiful.

So are you going to add the link or just tease us??? I'm going to try to get as many X-mas gifts done now instead of in December...this would be a great tag for gifts/ornamnet after opening! Thanx
