IS IT EASY TO LEARN? DOES IT REQUIRE EXPENSIVE ADD ONS? THANK YOU SO MUCH CUTIES. GRANDMA REALLY DOESN'T KNOW EVERYTHING.

I use Floriani. It's expensive up front, but you never pay for modules, updates, upgrades. I love it. They are state of the art and ahead of all the others in my book.

Embrilliance is wonderful, has modules you can add as you need and want them and the updates do not cost anything. This is a very professional program. I have 4D through Husvarna/Viking and to go to the next level and pay thousands was just getting ridiculous. Embrilliance is a very good and economical software and they have all kinds of lessons on youtube. I am not affiliated with this product, just a happy customer and user.

Embird is one of the easiest, least expensive and best supported embroidery programs on the market.
It is constantly being upgraded with new features, often suggested by customers, being included and the upgrades are by far the cheapest of any software program I have ever known.
It is very user friendly, with several choices provided to carry out the different processes, so each user has the luxury of choosing the methodology that suits the way they like to work.

It is purchased in separate modules, although the original download actually includes ALL modules, they are individually locked until purchased, when the license code is provided to unlock each one as it is paid for.

The program can be downloaded as a 30 day free trial, which is only altered by not being able to do certain things with the program.

The modules are Basic Embird, which includes Manager and Editor;
Embird Studio, the digitising module, which includes Sfumato stitch;
Font Engine, which is use to create text from the fonts installed in your computer;
Cross Stitch;
Iconizer, which allows for designs to be viewed as thumbnails in Windows Explorer; and
Alphabets, which are fully created alphabets, purchased separately, that are completely sizeable and very handy to create quick text.

I have been using and recommending Embird for about ten years and I cannot speak of it highly enough.

As a bonus if you purchase it in separate purchases from Secrets of Embroidery, https://www.secretsof.com/embird-... you can choose a bonus set of designs, (for spending over $35), to add to your GD's collection. Don't forget to sign up to Secrets and log in before placing your orders

There is also a Tutorial Plug-in that you can download directly from Embird, https://www.embird.net/sw/embird/... that you install into the program.

There are many other places to get free tutorials so if you decide to go with it, please feel free to private message me and I will provide you with links to the ones that I have found and used.

I hope this information is helpful and your granddaughter enjoys trialling and using Embird.

I have been using (expensive) Husqvarna software since 1998 and Embird since 2004. I fully agree with Meganne that Embird is the easiest and by far the cheapest.
There's a learning curve of course, but using one tool at a time makes it fairly easy.

I too love Embird and have been using it for about 15 years. I find it a very simple and intuitive program and best of all you can contact the software owner (Dusan) if you have any problems not able to be solved by any of the Embird groups online or have suggestions for improvements/additions to the software. I also love how you can keep adding free fonts to the software so that you can end up with undreds of different fonts. Great value for money and you only need buy the modules you need. Small cost for upgrades but updates are free.

From all that I had read over the years here on Cute, I believe that Embird is a good one. For one thing you can add additional modules as you need them.

I too have been using Embird for many years. It's great value for money, easy to use and there is so much help available. Personally I don't think there is a better software program on the market that gives you all Embird does given the cost. Can't go past it.
