I am so sorry to hear this. You are in an area with good, no great, medical care and I'm glad that you have a diagnosis and that there is a treatment for this. My prayers are being sent heavenward even as I type.

As you are retired nurse you know how serious this is, so I also know how concerned you must be. Sister-in-law recovered from it last year, but it was a long road. Prayers for all of you.
