Hi Cuties, I went to Hamilton to Missouri Star Quilt Co and Jenny showed us this block, among others.

You first make the pinwheel. I cut my 2 squares big, but anything you can divide by 3 evenly to cut a 9P. Turn the cut pieces around, until you get this. I love it! It makes you look like you started with a bunch of smaller pieces.
She has a You Tube video showing how it's done . See link below.
Anyway, free motion quilted and I cut the back larger to fold over and bind the edges. The candle mat is another bus gift and still using fabric like the runner and ITH coasters I just posted.
As always, I hope you like this and I love all Jenny's ideas!!!-Have a great day, Toogie

Lovely assortment from half square triangles...I love Missouri Star Quilt Company's tutorials...I am always amazed at how they can take such complicated old quilt patterns and work their magic to make them all so easy to cut with no templates and using rotary cutters and rulers...it is truly magic!

Ok. I'm confused. Do you cut the pinwheel in 9 pieces? Then rotate them around? Love the outcome and versitility of this techinque!

Yes, Penny you make a pinwheel then slice it twice from top to bottom and twice from side to side, that will be your 9 pieces (9 new blocks). Then you rearrange them. Watch the you tube video link I provided.
