I made a new sweater the knit was a very dark blue but in the light at my home it look black, therefore I wore a black skirt with it , but when out in the sunlight I could see it was a very dark blue I felt like an idiot. Have you ever done something like this?

Got you all beat. Went to an important meeting once, shoes hurt a bit. When I got back to my office saw I had 2 right shoes on (from 2 different color shoes). Now that felt foolish.

Yes, years ago when I was working, I went to a meeting wearing identical shoes but one was black and one was navy. I felt such a fool.

I've been known to wear two different earrings...more than once....and two different shoes although the same style and in the dark, you're right, they look the same. Felt the same too! But when you consider today's fashions....we're probably ahead of the curve ya know?!

Yes and I told myself that I was setting a new trend. Didn't help but I just shrugged.

Yes! I had a dress with a background thread that I treated as black and "matched" black shoes to. After about 4 years in excellent sunlight I discovered it to be a very dark navy.
