What a spectacular trip you have had...so sad to hear about Steve's dad...condolences to your entire family. We are just back from the Washington DC area visiting family and also a wedding in New Jersey. Safe travels home...Hugs to you!
Thanks Kim, we’ve had highs and lows on this trip but life goes on. One more day to go and we leave this beautiful country. It’s just such a pity that we are so far away - the flights are horrendously long! Love Chris
I have done this trip and I have to agree it's was wonderful, I love Canada and have been fortunate to have seen both the West and East Coasts. If I didn't love Australia then I would live in Canada.
What a great trip!!! That is beautiful country!!! Safe trip! Hugs, Laura
Hi Laura, it's been breathtaking. I'm so glad we've got 4 days here on Vancouver Island. So looking forward to walking around the city of Victoria tomorrow too. Love Chris
What a great experience. Enjoy!!!!
Hi Angie, it's been on our Bucket list for a while! We actually booked this trip in January of 2017! Of course we had the wedding in Bali of Amy and Steve in May last year, and then my 65th birthday trip to my favourite country Italy and then of course our European White Christmas with Amy, Steve and the girls. Love Chris
Sounds like a wonderful trip. My in-laws went on an Alaskan cruise several years ago and said that it was breathtakingly beautiful. You look like you are having a wonderful time! So glad that you have the opportunity to travel and thank you for sharing with the rest of us. Safe trip home! (My 9 yr old has been begging for a Husky!)
Hi Debbie, I have run out of superlatives! My cousin in Queensland even commented and said I must have now run out of adjectives to describe the raw beauty. God's world is awe inspiring indeed. Love Chris
Wow Chris you and Trever are doing our next trip hopefully in a years time. What has the weather been like up there. Can you bring me the puppy it will fit in your hand lugage.. lol
Marian, you will absolutely adore it. We have been so fortunate, no rain. I think one night there was some drizzle, but it's Summer time here, so the warm weather is lovely. When we were in Ketchikan where they get 13ft of rain a year, we missed it, the day before we arrived it poured!!!! Those little Husky dogs are just beautiful, he never made a wimper. The handlers love the dogs to be passed around so they become accustomed to humans. Love Chris
Is there no corner of the earth you and Trev have not been? You two are so fortunate to have traveled to so many places. I am so happy for both of you. Thanks for informing us. Love, Suzanna
Hi Suzanna, there are a few places in Asia, Russia, England and South America yet to see, but it's such a long way and the long flights give me the irrits!!!!! Love Chris
Oh Chris, you both look so happy!
I hope you both realize how fortunate you are, to be able to travel and see the world. Not many people can afford to enjoy these adventures, around the earth the Lord made, including me. Soak it all up and share with us what you can. Most of all, keep enjoying life!
It's been the most wonderful trip. I think it rivals my love of Italy. The scenery up here is just awesome! I wish I could bring home some of the magnificent trees! Canadians are like us Aussies, very friendly and accommodating!
We reckon half of Australia are over here he he he!!!!!
Love Chris
We had some very sad news when we disembarked from The Nieuw Amsterdam on Saturday morning, Steve's Dad John (from Cambridge, England) died last Wednesday and because we didn't have good internet coverage we didn't find out till then. Steve flew out to England on Monday and the funeral is next Tuesday. He comes back home on the 6th July. Amy and the girls are on their own and with Amy working and school still in session it's been a bit of a trial organising babysitting etc. I usually do it. So when we come home on Sunday I'll be back to normal on Monday morning babysitting Delphi and taking Ophelie to school and collecting her just like my normal routine. Life goes on, doesn't it? Steve was only in England back in April/May and asked his Dad to organise a Power of Attorney, but John wouldn't hear of it! Poor Steve and his twin sister Sarah have to clear out his unit within a week as someone will be moving in. No rest for the wicked, so they say! Love Chris
I'm sorry about Steve's dad....I remember when Steve went out last time, to see his dad, not doing so well. It's a shame older ones are so unwilling to hand decisions over to the children. My niece-in-law is going through that now with her 90 year old FIL.
Yes, life has a way of moving on.
So you think half of the Australians are in Canada? I think it must be southerners-lol if they are so friendly!!!
Glad you have had a wonderful time. I know you hate you can't be there to help Amy esp. in a time like this but hey, let her see, it doesn't always have to fall on you. They CAN make other arrangements sometimes.
Everyone who has been that I know says that Butchart Gardens is fantastic.
