"Chaos Theory" - when I began making this, I wanted it to be ugly! I chose genuine scraps which were no use for anything else and didn't go together. (It was paper pieced on scrap paper and I used up random thread left on bobbins.)

To back it I used a fleece throw which came from Ikea sale. The total cost for the "quilt" was therefore £1.50.

The quilting design is a square spiral centred on the intersection of the blocks and was done in by my embroidery machine. No binding, I just brought the fleece round to the front to finish.

I like the finished product but I'm not sure it deserves a label!

It now has a label.

I like the look of this. You are what is called "On Trend" with this quilt design. Or something like that..... Anytime one can use up scraps is always a great project. I hate throwing away usable pieces. Yes, it junks up, but hey--what is the saying 'a penny earned is a $1.00 saved?' Plus, it is an awesome quilt.

I love it! It reminds me of my crazy quilt my great grandmother made me when I was little. I think it is absolutely beautiful and truly represents why quilts were first done.

Just love this scrapy quilt and just love the top stitching well done. Did u select your scrapes to match them up? I would love to make one too, but was just going to through the scrap colours together - not what you would do, if you were to make a regular quilt. How did you select yours?

I asked three questions. 1. Does it fit? 2. Does it "go"? 3. Is it any good for anything else? If I had the answer "yes" to questions 2 or 3 I didn't use that piece of fabric!

I think it is just wonderful, has a very happy feeling to it. I am so cross with myself as I forgot to visit an Ikea store when in England. That was a big mistake, although husband would think otherwise.

Lovely work for an ugly quilt. A very good way to use up scraps, lots of work but well worth the effort. Is it for anyone special in your life?

I don't know what will happen to it. The memories in the fabric scraps are mine so I may just keep it!

Sue, you are an inspiration. I'll have a go at sorting my scraps in sizes and not as they are now on date (that's a nice way of saying when one was filled to the brim I started the next one .. and the next ...)

I think it is beautiful. Thankyou for helping me deal with something. This quilt epitomises the chaos in my life at the moment, but I can see that no matter how chaotic it may seem, if I look deep enough I may find something beautiful. Thankyou again for using your amazing talents.
