Looking for some thicker yarn I found an almost finished back panel for a sweater. My children did not like the feel of the yarn, so it slumbered in a bag with the rest of the yarn for at least 30 (!) years. see picture #1.

My husband even tried if it fitted him. But I started it for a teenaged son and they were slimmer at the time than he is.

Tell you a secret. You can only see it at the wrong side, but I did the criss cross cable slightly different then in 19xx - the right side looks the same. I only noticed when I added the top of the back after I'd knitted the front :)

Excellent knitting. I am glad the yarn feels better after a steam.
