I've been wanting to make eye glass cases, but I was wondering what fabric and stablilizers to use. I don't know what to line the case with...something not linty or likely to cause damage to the glasses. Any advice would be helpful!

I use cotton. I use a quilted design for my eye-glass cases so it has padding in it too (I use Flex Foam Naked).

Naked Flex Foam!!! Now that got my attention! I'll look it up! Do you use a ball point needle to stitch throught the foam?

Hi Penny,
I make many glass cases for charity. I always use a denim for the outside, tearaway stabilizer and a soft cotton for the lining.

Oh, those are so cool! Thanks for the info. I like how you have the back part a little longer than the front. That's a good idea that I have not seen before. Thanks!

I use polar fleece to line....soft, and adds "loft" and doesn't lint. Cotton for the outside and you can use WSS or tear away .

I use polar fleece also.

Thanks! I was thinking polar fleece, but didn't know if it was linty. I've never used it before, so I'll give it a try.

I think you are pretty save with cotton material. Stabilizer probably tear away or wash away. Since I am a quilter and have lots of leftover pieces I use batting for the inside.
