When you embroider on towels, do you use the same color bobbin thread as you do in the top? I usually try to do that, but today I totally forgot.

It depends on the design I use. I matched the towel color for applique and the design color for fill.

I haven't ever thought about matching the thread to the towel color.

I always match top and bobbin on all my embroidery if you can see the back. I have a very good selection of bobbin thread I purchased just before I retired.

That's a good rule of thumb. I wish I had thought it all the way through

I use the same thread. Gives a nice finished look to the towel and it always looks pretty even if the backside peeks out. I know some people use bobbin thread the same color as the embrodery thread, but why bother? Just use embroidery thread for both. Besides, who has room for all the colors of bobbin thread?

I have always used bobbin thread. I will consider using same color as the towel...new idea for me, thanks...Suzanna

I haven't ever matched the towel color either. I think that would look really good next time.

I match the bottom thread with the colour of the towel, as the embroidery is in reverse to the front. This helps hide the reverse stitching. Janette

I never have done that. I'm going to try to remember to do that next time.

Sometimes I do because I want both sides to look good.

I used to carefully match the bobbin and the top thread. Now, since my machine is working better than it has in years, I just get so anxious to sew, and I forget to change out the bobbin thread.

Usually use white bobbin thread except when using black or red thread, for some unknown reason the white bobbin thread has a tendency to show through in places.

Some times I do and sometimes I don't. I have some threads that my daughter gave me (she used to sell emb threads) so if I have a colour that matches the towel then I use that if not I use bobbin thread.

thanks. I was doing a three color monogram, and I had filled three bobbins of the right colors, and then forgot to change after the first one.
