I really wonder whether it would be a good idea to use English. Many Greeks live from the tourist industry and speak English or one of the other European languages. However, the New Testament was written in Greek. It seems rather odd (not to say rude) to use a translation (English) in stead of the original.
Just my feelings as a European.
How about small FSL crosses? know I have seen free ones but can't remember where. Maybe some of the cuties can help you out on that.
Like Toogie I wonder about the language. I also think Book marks , mug rugs. Pot holders for women. Anything small and packs easily without taking up much rm. Small change pkts with velcrow closures
Good ideas. Thank you. I hadn't thought about pot holders, book marks, or the change packets. My mind is working now.
Would the verse have to be embroidered in the Greek language or would they be able to read English? Just a thought....I feel like Angie either items would be nice and easily packed.
Perhaps you could write a short verse in English and use google translate to Greek. Then you could make your design for the mug rug. If I can find time :) I don't mind helping do a short verse or two.
1 John 5:3 Because this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his orders are not burdensome.
Translated to Greek:
1 John 5:3 Γιατί αυτή είναι η αγάπη του Θεού, ότι τηρούμε τις εντολές του. Και οι εντολές του δεν είναι επαχθές.
I don't have this font/symbols so I'm afraid I spoke too soon.....
I hadn't thought about translating verses into Greek. I don't think I have those fonts/symbols either. I don't want to be rude or disrespectful and not give something in their original language. I only found out about this Sunday, and they need everything turned in by next week. I may have worried myself out of being productive
Bible verses is always good. Mug rugs and bookmarks are easy to transport also mug wraps
I didn't think about mug wraps. That would be different and easy Thank you!
