Hmmmm if a coat of paint would make me look that good I would be willing to try it. It's amazing the job they have done. Bet he will wash it down every time he uses it
NEW PAINT. Sure did the trick. We always had a garden growing up. A man would come with a mule and hand plow. He would go all over town and plow in peoples yards. I don't know if any in in the city limits had a tractor.
Yep, the paint sure gave this ol' tractor a face lift!
Kay, my older sister drove the tractor at home, because we had no brothers. She was 4 years older, so I was just 5 or 6, when she started driving. We both milked our milk cow, but she did it before we went to school. I must have done it on week ends.
Daddy would plant fields of vegetables, as we had 40 acres. After mama put up all she wanted or it got scrappy, whatever we picked, we could sell at the local grocery store and the money was ours.
He also bought us each a cow. He opened us a saving account and told us whatever calves our cow had and we sold, we could put the money in our own accounts. Needless to say mine remained pretty low, as someone hunting at night (illegally) shot my cow before she calved.
I remember my grandpa having a hand plow. I also remember my uncle had a skid they called it, that his horse would pull. It looked like a flat pallet like thing that he hauled his fire wood on and skidded it out the woods. No wheels like a wagon. Maybe you remember what I'm talking about.
Wow looks brand new. They did a good job on the paint work and I am sure it took a lot of hard work to make it look that good. I am sure there was a lot of rust removal before the new coat went on.
I know why your Hubby isn't interested in painting his tractor. His is Red and they go faster than Blue. LOL
Sunday morning humour in Sunny Australia.
ha ha ha! I'll tell him ! -lol
I would have liked to have seen his co-workers face when Caleb showed him the restoration photo!
Impressive! Now I hope the good looking paint job stays pretty for a long time. That garden is growing to grow some yummy stuff thanks to your grandson, your son and Nora.
Hi Karen, The paint job will keep it from rusting anymore. Brian and Caleb painted the Ford tractor and Caleb will use it at his land. Caleb doesn't have the plowing/garden implements for his tractor.
This garden is ours, at our house.
Looks brand new! What a difference a coat of paint can do. Well done Caleb!
I think it was mostly my son Brian, but I know Caleb likes working with his dad, when he is off. I always heard a fresh coat of paint makes an old barn look good, so I guess it applies to tractors too! Thanks, I'll tell them.
Wow. Is that really the same tractor? What a wonderful job they did.
Isn't it amazing? Caleb is so proud! My brother-in-law said he could resale it and recover all his expense and more, but he won't resale it. He has some acreage that he has cleared and will need to keep up. That's why he bought it.
Is it okay to say a guy is a "smart cookie"? He could start a used tractor business.
lol- Betsey it hasn't made his grandpa want to paint his-lol- I'll put the one DH does the garden with at the top. Can't add it here.
