My goodness Miss Ophelie is beautiful, and so poised in her leotard! I can't believe you sewed with that stretchy fabric. Anything I have tried to make with it has been a disaster. Nice job, as usual
Thanks Jan, I think she is beautiful too! And she's getting so tall. With a Dad who is over 6ft tall she is going to be tall herself.
With regard to sewing with Lycra I just use the stretch stitch and a metallic needle. It's easy, love Chris
Both leotards are just wonderful and your Grands are growing up fast!! I have never worked on such a stretchy fabric - do you use a walking foot? Great stitching!! Hugs, Laura
Hi Laura, thanks yes, they have a habit of growing don't they?
I don't use a walking foot, but use a stretch stitch inbuilt on the Husqvarna. You need a triple stitch or something like that for Lycra. Love Chris
I’ve made Delphi’s leotard today. We’re off to the Stardust circus with 5 of the grandkids tomorrow. Have to borrow Dana’s SUV to fit them all in. Love Chris
wow it looks great, she must adore it !! it fits her so lovely ! great job :)
Thanks Gerry, yes, she is 8 now but I had to lengthen the body as she is much taller than what the pattern calls for. She was prancing all around in it. Delphi's next!!!
It's raining here as I write this - it always happens on ANZAC DAY. Trevor, Ben and our grandson Cooper went to the dawn service and as we usually expect - it drizzled. Of course it was nothing to what our boys in the 1st and 2nd world wars had to go through - a bit of rain never hurt anyone.
It's a great day to do some sewing. I've just made Anzac biscuits which has made the house smell really yummy. Love Chris
So pretty. I have not attempted using that type of fabric. Hugs. Nan
Adorable! You are a super grandmother! Love the shelving, and so organized. I see you have some empty spaces, but I am sure you will fill them up! Hugs, Suzanna
Thanks Suzanna, yes I’m a bit anal. A place for everything and everything in its place!!!! I also have my colours filed alphabetically!!! The blank space’s white basket was on the sewing machine table behind Ophelie near the back window. Every nook has a white basket in it. Love Chris
Beautiful model and leotard...no wonder she wants you to make these for her...perfection! Blessings to all as you remember Anzac's Day...
Thanks so much Kim, she’s getting so tall now to I had to lengthen the trunk part of the pattern. Also thanks for your kind message about Anzac Day. love Chris
looks great Chris. Did you use a KwikSew pattern? and did you use the 'clear' elastic? One happy grand-daughter!
No Vicki, it’s a pattern I downloaded from the internet a few years ago. I made leotards for Jasana and Aqualina when they were doing gymnastics. Love Chris
And no I didn’t use the clear elastic this time I usded1/4 inch wide elastic. ❤️👵🏻
With my two, it is always monkey see, monkey do. The first one is beautiful. The second will be also. Wonderful work.
Thanks Debbie, exactly! As soon as Delphi saw Ophelie's it was "where's mine?" I'll get around to it I told her! Maybe not today but I'll do it. Love Chris
You always do such a great job sewing these, Chris. This is something I haven't tried. Of course Nora is in ballet class and black is easy to find. Right now that's all she is required to wear...black. Ophelie's came out great and I can see why Delphi wants one.
Thanks Toogie, I've got Ophelie looking over my shoulder as I type this reply! Have a go at it they are easy! I reckon they would be faster on the overlocker (serger to you!) Love Chris
